Is this supposed to be another thread where a dumbass Bama fan tries to explain to us that 2 losses totalling 4 points = playoff bid?

Here’s the problem at hand. USC lost, fair, so should they be eliminated because now they have 2 losses? I say yes, but now TCU lost also, so if you penalize USC for losing, you also need to penalize TCU for losing. In that note, do you reward Michigan, which destroyed Ohio State on their field and winning the B1G, now to play their most historic rival, in which they already beat. You can’t penalize Michigan for winning and reward TCU for losing at the same time. Your options are either Alabama or USC here, you make it fair, Georgia v. Alabama and Michigan v. Ohio State or Georgia v. USC and Michigan v. TCU. You either make 1. and 2. play their rival conference team or you make 1. and 2. play a “easy” win. You can’t make the argument to penalize USC for playing in a championship game, but then reward TCU for losing in their championship game.

USC and TCU are not created equal. USC got blown out and has two losses. TCU lost in OT to a Top 10 opponent for their first loss.
USC is not an option. Alabama is not an option. They both have two losses. TCU loss resume is better, as is their win resume.

Alabama is an option and should be. TCU and the big 12 have no business in the playoff, Oklahoma fielded much better teams than TCU and are 0-4. If your drop TCU to 4, it’s completely unfair that Michigan has to play their biggest rival, and if TCU stays at 3, then why the hell doesn’t USC stay at 4. You can’t reward one team losing but then penalize another for winning.

Don't forget when the new 12-team playoff starts there should be no conference championship.

Anyone arguing that Alabama should be in over TCU is saying that the games don’t matter. TCU has one OT loss to a Top 10 team. There are four P5 teams with zero or one loss. This shouldn’t even be a debate. The only debate should be the order the four teams are in.

If Bama is an option then Penn State is also an option then. 2 losses on the year to the #2 and #5 in the CFP rankings and I think at the time of the losses Michigan was 5 and Ohio State was 2 in the polls.

You said all of this without considering one thing--USC not only lost to Utah for the second time this year, they lost by 23 points.
TCU lost in overtime to a team they had previously beaten, along with every other team in the Big 12.
So yes, you can and should treat each team individually. And you're looking at it wrong, anyway. You aren't "rewarding" TCU for losing; you are just simply saying that with their body of work, a 3 point OT loss does not hurt them as much as a 23 point loss hurts USC.

Entire body of work:
TCU 1 loss, best win vs. 10 Kansas State, worst loss vs. 10 Kansas State
Alabama 2 losses, best win vs. 20 Texas, worst loss vs. 14 LSU
If Alabama gets in, then the committee is admitting only TV ratings matter. At that point, let’s just have Georgia/Alabama/Michigan/Ohio State until the playoff expands.

Dude, they beat Kansas State earlier this year. This loss doesn't negate that.

Forgot about that. Spare the condescension … dude. Try time reading comprehension. I’m not arguing against TCU. I’m in TCU’s corner.

If Alabama is considered then look at Tennessee. Their resume is better than Alabama’s.
I don’t think either are deserving.

I mean, it takes 10 seconds to read a schedule.
This isn't anywhere near as bad as the guy yesterday saying "at least TCU won their division"...lol!

Yes. They have 2 losses AND didn’t win their conference.

They are in the same tier as OSU, one loss non conference champion.

UGA
Michigan
TCU
OSU
How is having to play UGA rewarding OSU and penalizing Michigan?

No. The option is TCU as they have more wins and fewer losses.
