Should someone’s prison release yesterday be celebrated at Thanksgiving?

To me you shouldn’t conflate the two. A prison release celebration should be a standalone event, not made part of Thanksgiving dinner regardless of the timing. I’m happy my cousin is free for the holidays but Thanksgiving dessert should be pumpkin pie. Not a cake celebrating getting out of prison.

If you break the law you should be behind bars until your debt to society is repaid. You sacrifice your rights when you break the agreements we have as a society.
We should be tougher on criminals imo.

Man that sucks. Watch your possessions. And your booty too.

How about not celebrating the release of a criminal?

You should feel happy that your cousin finally escaped the school-to-prison pipeline.

Very tough call! One could make a strong argument one way or the other. Good luck.

Why are they celebrating? Was he wrongly convicted? What was the crime?

Depends on the family.

My advice: pack a pistol to dinner and start thinking of something funny to say after you put him down. Maybe some joke about stuffing, or the Creed halftime show, or bringing a shank to a gunfight.

Absolutely, it should. And you should report play-by-play of the festivities on our annual, trashy Thanksgiving happenings thread.

I want pecan pie, not pumpkin.

Only if they bring some toilet wine

I don't know, maybe there is room for both. The jailbird has to sit at the kid table, though. Has to work his way up to the adult table by staying out of trouble.

it's not like they're doing it at the same time as a kid's birthday party, FFS.
bring the pie and everyone can have both. it's adding to the celebration, not taking away from it.

What did he do time for?

Depends on what he got locked up for. Some weed then sure celebrate it at thanksgiving but if he diddled a kid nah I don’t think he deserves a cake
