Trump Announces Candidacy for President (2016)

Watch the first two minutes of that speech and compare it to any two minutes from last night's announcement. Age has sapped his energy, and his larger-than-life personality just isn't what it used to be.

I'm still supporting his bid, but last night was hard to watch. We are never getting 2015-2016 candidate Trump back.

It's over. He lost it.

Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.

I have a feeling Republicans are going to start hitching their wagons to DeSantis anyways.

Should be good TV.

What's the latest in the DeSantis vs Trump camps? Is Ron ok with waiting 5 years? The PT seems to be split on it all.

It doesn’t matter what he does or how he acts. Unless the US is in a Great Depression type environment, Trump is never winning the Presidency again.

DeSantis ‘24

edit: Jump on the DeSantis wagon or continue being a loser for the next 6 years.

The first few days after the midterms, I felt like the poliboard was 80% Big Dick Ron. Seems like it is about evenly split now. GOPe probably wants Ron, but he should probably just lay low for this run. Aaaaand, we're moved to the poliboard.

2020 losers: OMG Trump is so abrasive and aggressive and he's scaring off suburban white women.

2022 losers: OMG Trump sounds so weak and subdued, why didn't he come out more forceful and aggressive. He's too old to run!

Don't matter who runs on either side. If we don't figure out how to do an election dems are gonna keep winning

This big announcement from Trump. Big fricking whoop.

Foxnews.com leads the website this morning with a big photo of a smiling DeSantis and the headline about his big ovation last night. Trump's announcement is relegated to a small box below articles about Shrek and Enron, and equal to the UVA killings.

Let's see how Trump does this time without the folks on Fox and Friends sucking his cock every morning.

Look for the GOP to embrace mail in ballots and try to do it as well or better than Democrats.

I had the same feeling and it felt kind of sad.....speech was good but really isn't the Trump of 2015.

I don't think he can beat DeSantis in a primary

That will be a frickin disaster. The GOP can't even figure out how to effectively message their beliefs... but I'm sure they'll be able to set up a massive, nationwide ballot harvesting scheme.

I'm still unsure if Hannity and friends were trying to save him or screw him last night with all the interruptions. It was weird.

Even Jeb said it was low energy. That's saying a lot.
