Tell Me About Rayne, LA

Posted by Jergan Jensen on 11/27/24 at 10:35 am
Scoured the OT for a thread on Rayne but couldn't find anything - not sure if that is a good or bad sign. It looks like a town in decline, but is it possible it gets pulled in to the growth of the Lafayette urban sprawl and makes a comeback?

I'm aware of the frogs, murals, festivals and fights. What else should I know about Rayne?
I rarely come to this board bc most of y'all are a bunch of emotional, crybaby overreacting morons. Tonight the discourse is especially pathetic.
LOL at the morons arguing that protecting books is more important than protecting children.
I've been binging this Ytube channel the past few days. Great content, especially his drive through Louisiana.
This guy is documenting his travels across the United States, and he recently made his way through Louisiana. He explores both the big cities and the dying ones and isn't afraid to drive through the worst areas in the country.

Justice Map

Next time you get the itch to move to Bogalusa and you want to hear the OT's thoughts, consider checking out the Justice Map first. It breaks down race on a block-by-block level based on 2020 census data. It breaks down average income more broadly as well.

Craving cultcha? Find out where you can get it with the Justice Map!
Trump Announces Candidacy for President (2016)

Watch the first two minutes of that speech and compare it to any two minutes from last night's announcement. Age has sapped his energy, and his larger-than-life personality just isn't what it used to be.

I'm still supporting his bid, but last night was hard to watch. We are never getting 2015-2016 candidate Trump back.
Every new employee introduction profile being some version of "Likes his/her dog, traveling, eating at restaurants, and watching sports team X."
Having someone call about something, start the call by saying that they are very busy, and then proceed to waste 1 hour of my time telling me stories about their life I have heard 10 times already.

The article sucks, but the headline gets the point across.

I have used Clearview AI and other facial recognition programs. I am curious as to why people are saying "no" to this question and not giving a reason or explanation why. Also, "because its a slippery slope" does not answer the question.

The reason comes down to no one having trust in our institutions, be it local or federal government or ABC agencies, to not use this technology against them. Given recent events, I think it’s a well-founded concern.

In a world where our government was run by people who had America’s best interest at heart, I think facial recognition tech is a no-brainer.

It's so tempting as it would fix New Orleans, but the risks are too great.

I agree. At minimum, the legal framework on how it is allowed to be used would have to be ironed out so that cases of abuse could be dealt with in court with as little grey area as possible. A system of checks would have to be put in place on the users too, so we avoid situations where people spy on their exes like employees at the NSA do

Would you support a company like Clearview AI implementing facial recognition technology throughout your city if it could substantially help law enforcement identify criminals and reduce crime as a result?

Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye[quote] Catholics have homosexual pedophile priests. All churches on Sunday are full of sinners(drunks, gamblers, adulterers, gluttons)…as Christ intended. Why does the “sin” of homosexuality get so much more publicity and rancor? If churches weren’t led by sinners, we’d have no churches. [quote]For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God

All sinners are called to repent. In the article, a pastor calls homosexuality “divine love,” therefore implying it is not a sin.

Do you want to quote Romans 1:27 or 1 Corinthians 6:9-11?

"On Sun., Oct. 30, 858 of an estimated 6,000 members in Mandeville voted on disaffiliation. Of those who turned out, 92% voted in favor of separating from the United Methodist Church."

Of the large Protestant sects, Southern Baptists are the only ones left resisting this.

I watched these prank call compilations from the Gorgeous George Show a long time ago and just rediscovered them. They're as funny as ever. Anyone watch these back in the day?
Liking the British is un-American + their country is now being run by a Hindu pagan + their "royals" that they respect so much are either cucks or pedophiles + their police arrest you for being racist + they don't arrest grooming gangs because of political correctness.
