In 1998. I guess that was 25 years ago almost and that’s an eternity in politics. But that seems unfathomable all 3 of those cities in living memory would be so radically different politically.
Was W that popular in Texas or were those areas still reliably conservative?

Sheila Jackson Lee was declared the victor before a single vote was counted. Not to say there was cheating, it's just that deep blue in the shitty parts of Houston these days.

Anne Richards was Governor from 91-95 here in Texas. Things change and the pendulum swings.

The amount of Robert Francis signs in Dallas was absolutely dumbfounding.
Even better were the accompanying signs saying “Had enough? Vote Democrat”

Is it really unfathomable that counties change political disposition in 3 decades?

No it's not all shitty. She has a pretty big and fricked up looking district, so she catches some nice areas.
We call that the 25%

I know the demographic make up of the Houston area suburbs has changed dramatically over that timeframe.

The place has changed but the Bush name carried a lot of weight in Texas.

The weakest, most utterly worthless generation in the history of the world wasn't voting in 1998.

Doesn’t take Dims long to frick a place up does it?

In 96, Austin favored Clinton, and it was razor thin in Dallas and Houston, who slightly favored Dole.
