That is a massive shift nationally. Some 15-20% blue districts were 2-5%. With redistricting there’s only so much of a shift that is possible relative to house seats and majorities.

National popular vote is not important whatsoever. For any purpose or in any election. It is a meaningless statistic.
It should never be used to determine anything.
The Republicans made lots of “safe” Dem seats close, and won most safe red seats in huge blowouts. Not a surprise that the GOP got more House votes.

Bet you're one of those that wants to get rid of the electoral college too eh?

Yeah, but we gained seniors, lost millennials, especially young women. maybe it was smart to get the abortion thing out in a mid term than a presidential.. But even KY failed on the issue.

It's meaningless for election results, but there is a lot to be taken from it if you see in color rather than black and white.

Apparently not translating into gains. At this point it appears to me that the Democrats will retain the House. I hope the GOP gives McCarthy the boot and finds a new leader. They need to get their act together for 2024. I hate to think of the damage that the Democrats are about to unleash!

When all the remaining votes are counted (mainly out west), it will most likely be a final R+1 final voting result. Which is what was expected.

It is a helpful stat and national trends do provide information to the parties, but you have to remember that there is 36 races this year where there is no opponent on the ballot. 24 Republicans and 12 Democrats.

True....but it is funny to be able to toss it out there to see the lefties try to discredit it, since they are the ones that like using it every presidential election.

What significance do you see?

You are right but there are a lot of idiots out there that think popular vote is the only democratic way of electing a POTUS.
Republican leadership has to do a better job at combating this and explaining to the public that this is in fact a meaningless stat.

Popular vote on the granular level gives feedback on the sentiment of the people, both locally and nationally for certain issues.
You see a +20 blue or red district go +2, you pay attention to why. I certainly wouldn't trash the playbook simply because you didn't win that district at a point in time.

Not at all. I’m just saying That 6 MILLION (probably a lot more) voted Republican
6 million isn’t a drop in the bucket
