Montanans just legalized murder/infanticide

They had a vote on whether a baby born alive, ostensibly following a (failed?) abortion, needed to be given life saving care.
52% voted no. That they did not have to help a human, breathing baby. They could just let it die.

The problem with this one was the wording of the measure. It was very confusing, and shite like that will receive a no vote from many. Plus most people have an initial reaction to vote no on any new measures unless something about it is compelling enough to vote yes.
This is on whoever wrote this stupid law, not the voters.

100% It is the exact same reason the "Personhood" Amendment failed in Mississippi about 10 years ago. It was designed to force a referendum on Roe V Wade, but the amendment was written horribly and almost impossible for most laypeople to understand, so the majority voted "no" just because they didn't know what it was about.

The pregnancy is over. The mother is out of the picture. Why does the baby need to die?
Abortion is about not wanting to deal with a baby so you kill it. Period.

If deliberate actions by the parents are what caused the child to be placed on life support, then no, no sane person would permit them to ever again make a single decision concerning that child's welfare.
