Republicans need to dump the abortion stance. Younger voters don’t want no-abortion laws.

Unpopular opinion, I know. I think abortion is terrible but at the same time, I think:

(1) abortion is a state right
(2) government shouldn't have a say in abortion

A true conservative wants less government, so why are you fighting for a government that tells you that you cannot have an abortion? How about we teach values and morales so people don’t choose abortion instead of saying they cannot? The pro life soapbox will not carry into the future well.

You can't undo the word of God.

I'm not even religious, and I don't want to compromise on this subject.

Also, a government's chief JOB is to protect us. Murder is like... you know, top of that list.

I obviously disagree on faith/morality based grounds

But that aside, point me to a cultural concession the right has made to the left and how that evolved into a long term victory for the right.

It’s not just a religious concept.

It’s a slippery slope issue.

Don’t you doubt that these loons will advocate for killing their five year old one day because they have a learning disability.

Initially, abortion was for the first trimester in special circumstances. Now, they want it up to, and in some cases (Governor Ralph Northam in Virginia), after birth.

Well see, when you say that, then you put no restrictions on abortions right? Late term, post birth, etc...

Who should have a say in abortion regulations?

Why stop at abortion? Why not adopt democrat policies on taxes, socialized healthcare, welfare, "climate change", trannies, child genetal mutliation, everything?

Then the'd get all the votes, amiright?

No. I am fine with allowing the country to die over this issue.

No win situation. Abortion is evil, and you either stand for things or you don't.

Killing a new born baby = extremely heinous crime

Aborting a late term baby = woman’s choice and ok

Something seems off there. A couple days separates life in prison from no action taken at all.

Jesus Christ is King of kings and Lord of lords and the primary role of government is to wield the sword for justice. If murder goes on in this land and the government allows it, it isn't doing it's primary job, and it dishonors the Lord who has granted it its authority.

You know what else voters really like? Free shite. Conservatives should probably dump the fiscal conservative stance so we can attract more voters by giving them free shite.

It's tough, on one hand, unwanted pregnancies/kids are the root of most of our countries problems: poor public schools, crime, welfare. Making abortion illegal would likely not help any of these issues. I could make a case that more should get abortions.

On the other hand, being decent and intelligent beings, we should protect those not able to protect themselves. I hate the argument that it's a woman's choice as if there isn't another life directly effected.

Republicans just need to be pro-contraception. Free birth control would go a long way to appeal to middle ground voters.

I also support it in very limited cases of maternal well-being.

It's a states rights issue. The end.

Just leave it alone.

abortion is killing babies, not really much to talk about past that.

Abortion isn't about reproductive or women's Healthcare. THAT is the BIG LIE.

It is about the right for BOTH men and women to have unprotected intercourse without any responsibility or consequences to their actions.

We are in an age of moral degradation. Abstinence isn't taught anymore.

God created sex for marriage.

People do not want any accountability for any decisions they make outside of that provision.
