What kind of response is it that an official says its not his call. If he saw it he is responsible to say it.

Might’ve been once it went to review. Then it’s out of his hands.

But yes if he saw it first he should’ve made the call on the field.

It doesn’t matter what the fans think or feel. It matters what the referee decides. Why is this so difficult?

i thought you could not make contact to a sliding QB?

it WAS NOT targeting; but unneccessary roughness

I think I clearly said the Replay official saw it differently. Did I not say that?

Does a player that goes OOB have to establish himself in bounds before touching football?

Shows us too how that crew rolls. Head man keeps his thumb on things and influences a lot of how they call the game

Go to the 20s mark. If one of the refs saw it, then why was it “not his call to make”?

We all knew it….I thought that kinda BS was going to end when Ritter got out

They are all fit.... I am tempted to give a season ball to the strength and conditioning coach. These boys bring it from first to last whistle. So proud of them.

I didn't notice it in the replays, but did Wingo wave and point to his hand that he knew it was tipped as soon as it happened? Sometimes with refs like these, you have to 'sell it' to let them know it really happened. NFL linemen do it almost every time. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

he barely touched him.
i don’t think “trying like hell and whiffing” is a penalty though.

The SEC refs were fricking horrible all day. That non call safety on the UGA TN game was atrocious. LSU had 2 bad calls.

That doesn't mean the ref actually saw it. He was just letting the player vent knowing the call was out of his hands.

Sucks we had to basically go for two to eliminate the potential for another shite call, but it makes the win even more satisfying that we beat Alabama plus 7.

100% You have to think that had to play into the decision? Maybe not , but I thought about it. Why give that crew another chance to screw us. I said it during the game, that line judge on Bama sideline needs to be investigated.

It’s the freaking reply booth that always fricks us. Many years ago I did a very detailed analysis of why but In summary it’s because a bama alum and former member of the REC runs the show

The push we were getting on defense was impressive

I would say unbelievable, but it was a critical play that Birmingham could press their thumb on the call and give Alabama a second life. Sucks we had to basically go for two to eliminate the potential for another shite call, but it makes the win even more satisfying that we beat Alabama plus 7.

The whole reason BK went for 2 is because he knew the refs would frick it up the longer it drew on.

These multi-OT games are done - at least against Bama or similar. You let them hang around and Birmingham has plenty of time to cook up the screwfest.

Bill Lemonier, the Former NFL official that works with Fowler and Herbie said it was tipped.

LSU got the raw end of 2 booth reviews, the fumble where Brooks clearly had possession before the Bama TE touched the ball while out of bounds and this one on the tip with the PI.

Bill was also correct about the fumble. I rewatched the game today to hear the commentary and we never had possession.

Has there ever been a situation when Birmingham Replay Officals ruled in a way that was detrimental to Alabama?
