I need a new watch and will probably make that my big ask for Christmas. I am not OT rich so my budget is like $100-150. What are y'all best recommendations around that price?

Seiko 5 series. There are tons of styles.

In before the watch haters telling you to use your phone.

Analog or digital?

If analog — probably Timex. Can get a basic G-Shock in that price range if looking digital.

Those Seiko series 5's look nice. The one's I've seen are still Made in Japan.
I saw one with a blue dial that was a little over your budget ($167) but not by much.

Orient bambino for a dress watch
Gshock for everyday/beater
Seiko 5 sports watch for classic steel sports watch

Go with the seiko for best all around you can wear in any situation. Both the orient and seiko will be automatic which is fun. I’d go black or white face if your only watch as they are the most versatile. Also don’t be afraid to buy used.

I've been wearing the Seiko SNN241 for a couple of years now. I like it a lot. I use the chrono feature all the time. I used to have a Seiko #5 that was stolen out of my vehicle. I really liked it as well but wanted a chrono.

Orient and Seiko. You can't go wrong with either brand.

This is what I have. It is lightweight, not bulky. The style is simple and classic. I believe it is around $200.00.

I had a Seiko digital watch back in the 80s. I was black with a gold background on the LCD display. It didn't hold up very well.
