Wife and I and another couple going to spend a few days in Savannah. We're staying at the Marriott Savannah Riverfront.

Would appreciate sights and restaurants.

Tybee Island is a nice day trip. There’s a historical fort there and another on the way.

Savannah is pretty, you can walk all the squares downtown easily. We’ve enjoy Husk for brunch. Collins Quarter is good too. Treylor Park and Ordinary Pub have good casual food. Alligator Soul and Olde Pink House are pretty good for a nice dinner. The historic district is very walkable, we’ve never really left that area on our trips. Lots of good rooftop bars on the river front.

Drive out to Tybee and eat lunch. Ordinary Pub not to be missed. Madame Butterfly has arguably the best cocktails in town. Traylor Park is great.

Fair warning. Someone is going to come in here and recommend The Grey. Restaurant in an old Greyhound Bus station. Skip it. Far and away the most overrated and PRETENTIOUS restaurant I have ever been inside. I left after appetizers. It's one of those "we won't give you salt and pepper as you need to experience the food the way the chef intended" type places.

Fort Pulaski is awesome if you care at all about civil war stuff.

One of my cousins recommended The Grey Market for breakfast. Is that the same place?

I’ve seen the “chef” cook. I swear she’s retarded.

Not the same (owned by same people I think) but is a casual style place with an amazing burger.

Never been to Grey but I've heard mixed results
Pink House and Elizabeth on 37th very good

Grey Market is really good for breakfast. While I’ve heard mixed reviews of the Grey from others, I have had great experiences there. Pretentious, yes, expensive, yes, but overrated food? No.

You are likely going to need reservations 30-60ish days out for Olde Pink House but worth it.

1790, Garibaldi, Vic’s on the River are other restaurants to consider in Historic Dostrict.

I thought I was on the food board. Do you need recs for anything else besides restaurants?

The Old Pink House restaurant if you can get reservation upstairs. If not, go wait in line to get into the bar i the basement. It’s very fun and romantic. Very crowded.

The Marriott on the river has a museum level that is fantastic. Crystal samples and fossils that are really amazing. There are more expensive places but Dockside Seafood down from your hotel was our best meal there. Get a trolley tour to see the city. SCAD had a free tour at their original location that put Disney to shame. Definitely recommend it. It’s the building with the cannons framing the doors. We did several home tours and they were all interesting.

We enjoyed brunch at B. Matthews...I think it's just one street over from River St. Savannah Smokehouse has counter service BBQ downtown that's also really good.

People will also recommend the hop on/hop off bus to get a feel for the layout of the city. We did this and I wouldn't recommend. We did a ghost tour pub crawl which gave us a much feel of the city and was a lot of fun.

We ate at Pink House (definitely recommend), Trailor Park (was pretty good but kind of hectic, not relaxing), Ordinary Pub (was solid), and really wanted to try Alligator Soul but couldn't get in.

Check out the rooftop bar at the Thompson next door to the Marriott.

Everyone rants and raves about Leopold’s, but, if you don’t want to wait in that line, try Hawaiian-style slushes and ice cream down the street at Hokulia.

Didn't make it there, but if OP is flying into SAV there's a Leopold's there. I've never seen more than a few people in line there.

I did a self walk around tour. Checked out Colonial park cemetery.

Breakfast at Two cracked eggs Cafe nearby was good.

I found it somewhat fascinating watching the cargo ships go upriver. The ships get so close to the walkway it's kind of a sight imo. Watching those tugs work was impressive, to me.

I enjoyed the city but didn't get much time there. I look forward to going back.

spent seven months there for work and it's a nice little town with some just okay food.

Especially the Grey. Actually had a bad oyster there.
All the other places mentioned are decent, but no real standouts. The atmosphere of the city is good for a fall weekend for sure. And the Pink House is a fun, historical feeling meal.

If you make it to Tybee, which is basically a busier Dauphin Island, then hit Sea Wolf for cocktails and oysters.
