That is depressing as hell. We have at least 2-3 more years of suck.

We endured 2 to 3 decades of suck. We can’t suck it up for at least a half decade.

Exactly.

Cheer for the other NOLA sports team because while the Saints go thru this inevitable rebuild, the Pelicans are coming out if theirs with a young, fun and talented core that's gonna be competing for rings for awhile now.

Penning and Olave will be on this team for many years. Saints will have top 5 pick but sometimes those picks doesn't work out. Saints did good with the draft.

Thankfully the Pels should be good and their core is locked in for 2-3 more years.

Trading Payton will resolve the draft pick issue. We have some players to build around. But the rest of this season is gonna suck.

While that’s true we still have done pretty poorly drafting since 2017 and we have no QB.

Everything should be about getting a QB. Everything.

Nothing happens without a QB.

Literally can’t do anything until you have a QB.

Every step taken in the building should be toward getting a QB. Everything they do going forward should be to get a QB.

Yes.

Dependent upon the 1’st round pick/Payton trade scenario this year…. I am fully prepared to suck arse for another season or two after this to draft the franchise QB. Also, to get right with the cap situation.

You HAVE to have a franchise QB to win in the league.

I’m tired of hearing this honestly. The Olave trade was for a good player, but the Saints overpaid and hamstrung their future.

They aren’t getting a top 5 pick for Payton because he is going to go to a contender that is missing a HC piece not a shitty franchise picking in the top 5. So no, you sent replacing that pick with Payton compensation.

Agreed. There must come a realization that Loomis doesn’t know what he’s doing anymore when it comes to building a franchise.

Allen should also get the axe as he no doubt sold Loomis on the strength of the team and was absolutely wrong.

Edit: How this gets downvoted is hilarious after what this team has shown this year

It's like the Julio Jones draft trade. He's a really good player but that doesn't mean the trade was worth it.

Also can we finally all agree that Davenport wasn't worth the extra first rounder?

Yeah in the immediate after math of Payton “retiring” I said the JW experiment needed to end and it was time to starting eating the shite on the contracts we’ve punted and begin the tank.

Man I can kind of get wanting to make one more run with an elite D and hoping JW could flourish surrounded by weapons…but you fricked any hope of that coming to fruition by going with Allen. It’s beyond clear that the guy just isn’t HC material and even more maddening is you had a sample size to judge him on.

Going to be a few years until we’re playoff contenders again barring getting extremely lucky with a QB falling into our laps

Not worried about the cap.. But come on we lost our once in a lifetime HOF QB... Our HOF coach resigned.. We have an unbelievable amount of injuries.. We counted on the QB situation to be a lot better than it is and traded away our 1st.. That move would have looked genius if the QB situation had worked out (HB).. Some of the free agency moves didn't work out like we thought.. I'll say that the play calling is too conservative and we have lost games because of it...

Even as a DC, Allen’s defenses choked over and over again. They were awful in the playoffs when it mattered.

He is extremely overrated and most of his success had to do with Nielsen getting a ton out of the DL, which even there has gone to shite.

Which was stupid at the time and more stupid now.

We relied on Jameis Winston and Andy Dalton. I hated it at the time and even though we got a really good player, I hate it now.
