2-way. Good for the kid and good by the Pels paying the kid even though he won't be playing. That injury could have really hindered his life.
I can't believe I missed the link... from the official website of the New Orleans Pelicans

Good for him and glad the FO has the character it does.
We could’ve just left him by the wayside but shows the culture we are building

Is his injury for the whole season or is there a chance he gets on a court at some point?

I think ACLs are typically 9 months. So maybe but probably not.

Good news! I got good vibes from him at Ohio State

Probably won’t play for us this year but, if we have a free roster spot toward the end of the season, he probably gets converted to a Jose / Naji type deal.

ACL’s are typically 9-12 months depending on several factors. Basketball can be on long side because there’s a lot of cutting and jumping.

They may not keep him on the 2 way all year. They may have just wanted to give him some money while he rehabs. At some point you may need that spot due to injuries, someone for practice etc.

EXACTLY. The team wants character players then they need to show high character in how they treat those players. I never thought they wouldn't pay the man somehow someway I am just happy to see the follow through. From what I understand the first checks don't cut until week 1 anyway so this probably had little effect on EJ's summer especially if they told it was coming after they let some guys play on the two way during preseason.

When we traded for boogie didn't another player come too, get hurt in his first game with us and then we cut him immediately?

Dell Demps FO so that’s not what I was referring to

Absolutely. I know that, that's the point I was trying to agree with you, to finally have a front office worth a damn. And yeah it was omri casspi. Thank you

Two-way contracts didn't exist in February 2017. They were created the following season.

If I remember correctly I do not think Caspi wanted to stay with the Pels.

IIRC, his injury was bad enough we needed the roster spot more than him.

There were rumors that Omer Asik really didn't want an Israeli as a teammate. But I don't know if that was ever proven or disproven.

E.J. Liddell's Two-Way contract with the New Orleans Pelicans is for two years, a league source tells @spotrac .
