Tennessee/Heupel's aggression on offense should be noted
And I know it'll be brought up but we have a backup who clearly based on when he's played and what the coaches obviously think, they don't trust him to make the same tough passes required for that style.

I feel your frustration Big4Saltbro. We are going to have some firings and hiring after the season. Hang in there and don’t take any sucker bets from anyone.

That's not the kind of real football our staff grew up playing.

The wr wide splits, how they run zone, taking shots
Agreed.
Easy to be aggressive when you’re practically gifted a TD on the opening kickoff, but they kept their foot on the gas all game. They never let up even when our defense was keeping them out of the end zone for the most part.
When our offense couldn’t ever catch up eventually the defense was hung out to dry.
Heupel has a good thing going, will be interesting to see how they stack up to Alabama next week.

I hope one day we’ll see that type of offensive creativity from LSU.

We don’t put any pressure on the defense. All good offenses put the pressure on the defense. We don’t have that mentality on offense. Daniels is afraid to throw down field consistently and our play calling is confusing. We force more throws to a FR TE than we do to experienced talented WR’s. It’s ridiculous. The lack of any real running threat doesn’t help and I think that is on our OL situation and lack there of. We are 2 years away from a real oline we can lean on. If we can get another good class

That is why this hire worries me. Woodward is so big on proven over time people. The problem with Jimbo and CBK is they are 10 years behind the times. Unless he scraps his two TE offense and changes with the times we will never be elite again. Unless he recuits like UGA and we got the best defense, TE, and O line every season. It would make a lot more sense and have a better chance if he gets out the way and hire a young offensive mind. That's why I wanted Lane and it's pisses me off that Woodward didn't he even look that way and went with a Jimbo hire.

You can scheme up as aggressive as you want, if JD doesn’t pull the trigger, it doesn’t matter. JD had a chance on the first series to hit Boutte on a post, man on man, with no safety help, Boutte had the guy beat and he didn’t throw it. So for those who are trying to blame it all on Denbrock, that’s not totally true. I do think he could have done a way better job today, but his game plan is limited because of JD’s unwillingness to let the ball go more.

They also have an OL that can open holes for the RBs and protect the QB.
Because they call plays that get the ball out quick.

I don't see him going after a young guy who likes to throw it all over the field.
And that will be his downfall just like it was fulmers at tennessee.

Howard will be that dude. He just isnt ready yet. Having a qb to do it is the tough part

Agreed. Everybody saying Denbrock is bad but overlooking JD simply isn't pulling the trigger on perceived "tough throws".
If we ran Tennessee offense, we still wouldn't look good bcuz JD doesn't make those same throws Hooker did. JD is a check-down king. Even on 3rd and long, then kid throws it to whoever is closest, even if they're at the LOS. He doesn't throw beyond the marker for 1st downs.
Any offensive scheme looks bad when your QB throws the check-down or holds it and eats a sack constantly.
Man, everybody in America can see JD is struggling to process what he's seeing. He's essentially playing sandlot football.
"Let's snap the ball and then look to see who's open". I'm not even sure he knows the route tree at this point.

When you have shite X and Os it doesn’t help the talent you have. Denbrock sucks
Far be it from me to defend this piece of shite offense but it should be noted that even yesterday, even with <1/2 of a starting OL, there were times when there were multiple receivers beyond the sticks with no one within five feet and Daniels still wouldn’t cut it loose. That suggests to me that the play calls are there and that we have to hit those plays but Daniels is the problem. If he had no one to throw to, I would say scheme/WRs were at fault but that wasn’t the case.

I enjoyed watching that offense, just wish it wasn’t against LSU. Older, talented signal caller who was decisive and accurate. A well designed offense that works when you’re in the lead and works from behind. Exciting pace for the fans and I don’t blame Vol Nation for being pumped. They deserve it, but I believe we’ll be back soon enough.

And passing and reads and quicker decision making and quicker release and a running game. Other than those details you nailed it.

Oklahoma is going to get a good coach in two years.

I liked how he kicked a field goal in the first quarter.

Problem is kelly likes denbrock's offensive system.
Kelly and Denbrock probably had multiple exchanges this week about Tennesee's offense being a gimmick.
And they probably kept up that belief system as UTenn beat our arse yesterday
