When LSU destroyed Georgia in the 2019 SEC Championship it was their press asking Kirby, “Why don’t we run those route combos that LSU runs?” Kirby answered that they run the same plays, and he said, “We just don’t execute them like they do.” Instead of Georgia’s fans saying, “We need a QB like Burrow and receivers like Chase and Jefferson”, they said, “We need a new offensive coordinator.”

Kirby also said LsU played 26 consecutive snaps with the same offensive personnel. LSU dictated what they will run not the defense and GA could not substitute in the manner they wanted.

Denbrock heavily substitutes like Miles did and opposition knows exactly what set of plays will be run. Gives defense a tremendous advantage.

Problem is kelly likes denbrock's offensive system.

Kelly tried to hire Jim Chaney to run that garbage as well. Kelly wants an old school pro style offense that won’t cut it in this league anymore.

Exactly and Exactly

It's truly amazing how this fanbase spent 10+ years defending Miles' bullshite offenses, then similar things under O, got to witness 2019 live, and now forget all the differences.

Kelly and Denbrock probably had multiple exchanges this week about Tennesee's offense being a gimmick.

And they probably kept up that belief system as UTenn beat our arse yesterday
Well, that's a pretty idiotic take.

It's a bit of a chicken/egg situation. How much of it is Denbrock's poor offensive scheme and how much is JD's limited execution? Of the two, I feel we know less about Denbrock than we know about JD.

a. Denbrock/Kelly specifically chose Daniels to be our QB and promised him the starting job, allegedly.

b. If Denbrock's scheme isn't working with Daniels, why hasn't he changed things up? You see us running any creative option plays? Scheming WRs open? Giving Daniels easy throws to WRs? THAT is the major concern from this year. Denbrock/Kelly have, effectively, said "this is our scheme and this is what we're running, regardless of results". That's why people keep comparing them to Miles/Cameron b/c it was the EXACT same philosophical/scheme marriage.

Daniels is regressing every game. If he looks this bad against Florida hopefully the coaches will consider a change.

Allegedly being the major fricking keyword there.

He has two options. Option 1 is to take a bunch of L's and please the fanbase with Nussmeier (2008 Jarrett Lee 2.0), or throw a young Howard to the wolves and take a bunch of L's while doing the same thing to him that LSU did to his dad and possibly wreck his qb confidence for life. And Daniels will give us some L's too, just not as much as Nussmeier or Howard will right now.

Do either of those two situation seem like the better option to you?

Nah. Kelly specifically said that their plan was to scheme around the talent that they have available, both offense and defense. If that's true, then what we're seeing is what they believe is the best we can execute with our current roster. The coaching may still be terrible, or they may be limited by the current roster. I personally don't believe the the jury is decided on Denbrock yet.

Any offensive scheme looks bad when your QB throws the check-down or holds it and eats a sack constantly.

And just imagine, people were saying this is the reason Brennan wasn’t the starter and yet he’s getting sacked a bunch.

Apologies, my original post here was a response to another thread.

It doesn’t look like Denbrock is very alert or observant at all. He still wants to make Daniels a drop back passer, instead of rolling him out.

People were talking shite about Heupels offense last year. Keep that in mind.
