I haven’t stayed at the Ponchatrain Hotel but the bar at the top of it is great

There aren't that many, but the Hampton Inn (between Louisiana and Napoleon) is quality, without the shite-show that occurs 1 mile away.

And there are some good Bed and Breakfast kind of places in the area

It’s a long street. The hotels are better & more plentiful on the downtown stretch

May I recommend the Intercontinental

Someone said the Intercontinental. If you were going there I would stay at the Eliza Jane instead.

st. vincent is pretty cool. We also like Hotel Indigo on St. Charles. Not real fancy, but a good price (normally).
