Pregame Bama and opening kick off 2018 was lit, and then the game was a huge dud.

Blocked field goal against Alabama in 2008 is the single loudest moment I’ve heard in Tiger Stadium and I’ve been to a countless number of games.

My personal experiences, though I have not been to many of the famous games mentioned above.

1987 Ohio State: QB Tom Tupa couldn't hear enough to get the first snap of the game. He turned to the refs for help, and the stadium got louder.

2007 Arkansas: During the timeout prior to the Piggie's 4th down play in overtime, Tiger Band was playing Neck, and when the play started it was some seriously loud. Unfortunately, they converted anyway and it never got that loud again that day. Was like a funeral when Flynn threw the INT on the 2pt conversion.

Those were both louder than the Earthquake response.

My moment would be four plays before the pass to Eddie Fuller to win the Earthquake Game. On the final drive, when LSU had to have it, Hodson hit Willie Williams with a pass on fourth down to set up the final four downs of the game. I've been going to many, many games at Tiger Stadium for 62 years but have never seen or heard the crowd as at that moment. Williams had to run some to get the 4th down yardage so the noise swelled and wasn't as abrupt as 4 plays later--thus, no earthquake. But, my Lord, how that stadium came down. Those of us there will never forget the intensity of that whole game, not just the last drive. When the 4th ranked team comes to LSU to play on Saturday night it is something very special.

2017 vs Bama, when Adams picked off Hurts on the opening drive. Place was electric.

Here is an underrated one from Patrick Peterson.

Listen to the crowd BEFORE the punt return. You could tell the crowd knew there was a good chance something was about to happen. And it did.

When we all thought Tua was hurt and then when Bama got stopped on that 3rd down Tua went out on. It was pretty loud then. After that, not so much.

I’ve got one that’s off the radar. UGA 1998.

Early season SEC matchup, LSU was # 6 in the nation, UGA was top 15. It felt like that was going to be the year that LSU took the next step (we still knew very little about Lou Tepper at that point) and move from 7-9 wins a year to an SEC contender.

LSU was driving to end the 3rd quarter, down 21-28. Felt like we were about to tie it up, when the band played pregame in between quarters, it was extremely loud.

Well, we lost 27-28, which only previewed the 2 year Lou Tepper wrecking ball.

ETA. That UGA team was pretty solid. Quincy Carter at QB, Champ Bailey on both sides of the ball.

There were a couple during some of 2011 lopsided games. The Wing fake punt and the pick 6 against auburn that capped off 3 touchdowns in a minute or so.

Not game deciding. That eliminates the Earthquake Game, Demetrius Bird against Auburn among others. My answer is the blocked field goal against Alabama in 2008 that sent the game in to overtime. The crowd went ballistic. Unfortunately we lost in OT.

Kendall Beckwith fumble recovery inside the 5 vs Bama… can’t remember the exact year.

Loud as hell. REC call followed not long after to screw LSU

I've been going to games for 38 years. It's the 2007 Florida game when they announced the USC loss to Stanford.

There have been plenty of loud moments after LSU scores a TD including the Hester TD in that FLorida game. There have been plenty of moments of crowd sustained noise when our defense was on the field.

Here's why that USC moment was different.

First of all, LSU was #1 in one poll and USC was #1 in the other poll. As the season progressed, LSU had looked more impressive than USC and was gaining votes in USC each week. This was the first time LSU had been ranked #1 during the season since 1959 (someone fact check me on this). There was the friction between LSU and USC over the 2003 national championship, so USC had become a hated rival even though we didn't play during that time.

The I-phone had just rolled out in 2007 and not everyone had them, but word started to spread in the stands that USC had lost. When they made the announcement, it was a realization that LSU was about to be the unanimous number 1 team in the county if we win this game.

The funny part is that LSU had just scored to cut the Florida lead to 17-14. They made the announcement during the commercial break, everyone goes nuts and Florida promptly goes on a 80 yard drive in about 4-5 plays and extends the lead to 24-14.

But for two minutes during that commercial break, everyone, including the players on the sidelines went absolutely bananas. It's something I've never seen in that stadium, but to be in that moment, was tremendous.

Not necessarily a “moment”, but the 2009 Florida game is underrated in terms of how loud that game was. I remember it being just deafening. I believe there was an interview with Urban Meyer after where he mentioned how he couldn’t believe the sheer volume and he took his headset off for a moment to really get a true sense of it
