Ole Miss-LSU game in 2014. The mad hatter Les Miles versus Hugh Freeze who was in the process of turning around the dumpster fire Ole Miss program. This might have even been one of the years they beat Bama. And Freeze had a stud quarterback Bo Wallace who didn’t have what it takes for the league but was a strong SEC caliber QB.

Game came down to a potential [edit- game tying] field goal for ole miss to win the game. Decently high percentage field goal. Ole Miss kicker kicks and makes it - BUT FREEZE HAD CALLED TIME OUT BEFORE THE KICK! Then the poor kid missed it on the second attempt! Bo Wallace stormed off the field looking like he was about to cry. Awesome game.

Edit - shite, I didn’t remember it right it was even better than this. They never actually kicked. LSU called time out and then OM decided to go for it and Bo Wallace threw a pick to end the game. Also Les Miles mom had just passed away before the game. Here’s a good article about it LINK

No. None of that happened.

They lined up for a game tying FG and had a delay of game. Then they lined up and LSU called timeout. Then Ole Miss decided to go for it and Martin picked Wallace off

Ole Miss-LSU game in 2014

I think you've got the wrong game listed.

LSU won the 2014 Ole Miss game 10-7 so it wouldn't have been a walk-off FG for Ole Miss.

Also that game ended with Ronald Martin intercepting Bo Wallace on the 5 yard line.

since analytics is the big thing now, I'd love to know the stats on icing the kicker.

Personally, I don't think it makes any difference, but would love to see the numbers.

I was at the game. Top row of the lower bowl. The roar was so loud on that last pass attempt it was blurring my vision (it had been 59 minutes of football since my last drink, so it wasn’t blurred from the drinks)

That game is one of my favorite games in Tiger Stadium ever.
I was at FLA 2007 and UGA 2003 but this game was right up there with those for me.

Many people forget that ESPN Gameday was on the Parade Ground that day. We were ranked around #24 and Ole Miss was #3.
Nobody really gave LSU a shot to win that game. The national consensus was basically a question of just how bad would Bo Wallace and Ole Miss beat LSU at night in Tiger Stadium.

That was 100% on Bo Wallace. Everyone in the stadium expected him to throw a quick out or throw the ball away.
What a dumb arse. Thanks Bo for one of the best LSU games I've attended.

That was an epic night for Tiger Stadium. I could feel the noise and my shirt was vibrating during the game. That is one of the loudest games I have been to.

We were sitting behind the Ole Miss bench. Before the game Bo Wallace came up to our section and hollered, "I am going to shut y'all drunk arse Cajuns up tonight."

He also ran up to our section after he thought he had thrown a TD pass and was taunting us. We had already seen the replay and knew the WR had stepped out. We were screaming at his dumb arse to look at the TV
