What...to piss off the best receiver in the country because he can't get him the ball downfield?

Kayshon needs to lose some weight and gain some hands before he gets crowned best receiver on this team much less best in the nation.

He’s the 3rd maybe fourth best receiver on this team right now

If you graded Nuss based off his QBR and not what you saw then I can’t help you.

Lol you right throwing interceptions

Daniels has thrown way more interceptions over his career than Nuss.

Threw as many TDs as interceptions last year.

Looks like you’re wrong again.
ETA I looked back and I was wrong he came in after two series he did get “starter reps though” given he played the rest of the game and his turnovers are the reason Arkansas won

Arkansas last year.

It was bad.

Based on this year, Jenkins has been our best. Consistent and clutch. Nabers targeted the most, he looks like he is having trouble catching…even some bobbles in previous games. Bech has caught well in limited opportunities. Thomas has been good outside of last night.

Running and lack of turnovers.

Last night was clearly his worst game at LSU. Prior to that he had been unspectacular but solid.

Which qb would you rather. Jayden Daniels vs auburn or nuss vs southern

This... Its a rebuilding year and we need to avoid the mega disaster. Nuss is overwhelmed, you can see it all over him. Anyone that has competed in anything past JV can see he doesn't have it yet.

Building a culture and system takes time and I believe we are ahead of schedule and just need to be patient. The slow starts are annoying but the adjustments have been awesome to see. Eventually this team will start playing more instinctive out of the gate once they get more comfortable. Hopefully anyway ....

Well he is better that Daniel’s. I like Daniel’s but he needs to scan the field more and throw to the WR’s

Potential. He has room to grow JD is who he is. A RB attempting to play QB. He hasn’t got any better since his first start at ASU.

Jaydens Ball placement is horrendous. Nuss needs to be the guy. With a Daniels package every game. There needs to be shot plays in Daniels package as well. WR group one of strongesr positions and they checking out during the game xause they know Daniels one read QB and you have a more probable chance of a poor ball placement throw then where it needs to be. Timing patterns, throw those out the window he cant make those throws. Daniels is just a bad passer.

Agreed.

Time to put the boutte from an ole miss game 2 years (and likely 30 pounds) ago to bed until he shows back up

So which is it? Is Nuss the better QB right now, or is Nuss possibly going to grow into a better QB down the road?

Those are two very different things with Tennessee coming to town in 6 days.

I understand your points but we can't overlook that there are many possessions where JD doesn't move the ball. We have so many 3 and outs. There are even times where are given short fields and still no points. There's no consistency or efficiency with our offense. Yes, we beat Auburn. But be honest, would you rather Ashford or Daniel's? That was Ashford's 2nd ever start. AT what point do we admit JD is at his ceiling? I haven't seen any improvement from him since FSU.

What do we see in Nuss? We saw him pass 2/6 for 5 yards, 3 of those incompletions being drops that hit the receivers dead in the chest. Other one was throwaway on his first drive on 3rd down that he got his arse chewed out for by CBK. After that there were no more throwaways. So what do we see in Nuss. A QB that can actually pass. That’s what. If you’re still making judgements off of how he played against Southern, you can stop because he didn’t appear to look like he was going shlt himself against Auburn yesterday. Sorry for the long paragraph, but evidently that’s what it takes to explain something these days. SOB.

Nuss is the better QB now with more potential. With JD our best position group will never be involved in the game.

The game against Southern is the most we have seen him play so it’s part of his story. Give him the two drops back and he is 4/6 for maybe 15 yards. I get what you are saying, but the data at this time does not point to Nuss clearly needing to play more.

Fact is, we don’t have any tape on Nuss as a starter in the flow of a game after a game week of practice as the #1. Maybe he would be turnover prone and cost the team. But I think it may be just as likely that he would be more settled and in control. We know he has a big arm and decent mobility. I don’t think we can conclusively say anything about his accuracy or decision making in small samples coming off the bench.

On the other hand, We have 4 games of JD in an LSU uniform, and 2 years at ASU. We know that his only real strength is scrambling and taking care of the football, in part by not throwing to remotely covered receivers. We can win games against inferior or equal opponents this way, because we have a good Defense. But we will be very impotent against the upper tiered teams.

I don’t know for sure Nuss is the answer but I’d like to find out because I think the risk is worth the reward. We have a very good defense and WR corp and improving O Line. Give him a game or two. If it goes bad then turn it back over to the low risk, low reward JD and we will be what we are - Which I’m not saying is a bad thing - were in a rebuild - but it’s currently a subpar offense, very similar to Les’ teams. And if Nuss shows that after practicing all week as the #1, that he can take care of the ball and make throws, then this 2022 team could be a lot better.

I don’t think we are 4-1 with Nuss, so I don’t agree, but I am hopeful that our passing game would be much better with Nuss. However, I don’t know if that makes our overall offense more effective. Nuss has not proven to be a consistent passer.

He was actually solid last night. Nabers, Thomas, Boutte and Taylor all dropped passes from him, I believe. There was another well thrown slant that was incomplete because the Auburn DB held Nabers. They didn’t ask him to do much, but he put the ball on the money.
