These companies aren't really trying to sell anything other than social conditioning. The demographics of people with the most disposable income don't remotely match the commercial. For instance, do only blacks and gays drive Lexus and the new Mercedes EV? Of course not.

It was also a reminder that being gay leads to a disease that you’re not likely to get by not letting dudes ejaculate into your a-hole.
Some people need a reminder and that commercial served as that reminder. I think it backfired.

That’s how it is for almost all of tv - we don’t have cable anymore, and it’s unfortunate for football but oh well
