Desantis taking on Trump would fracture the conservative base and guarantee a President* Newsom administration.
I would view it as confirmation that one of the two of them are controlled opposition. If they end up battling, we're fricked. We're fricked anyway really, but 4 years of a Californian communist soyboy after 4 years of a breathing potato would probably completely doom us for eternity.
