We are officially out of NOLA

Was a fun four years while it lasted. I met my wife and had some great food and fun. Good music scene.
But let's be honest, the violence and malfeasance is just absurd. The same folks that advocate for less fraud have a hard time recalling LaToya. I am so glad I don't have to worry about a monster S&WB bill or having the road tore up in front of my house for a year or so. I like driving the dogs around with me and couldn't do that for fear of losing them in a carjacking.
It just didn't have to be this way. But it always will be. Red state here we come.

Just wait until you’re gone for a while, your going to look back and be absolutely shocked at what you “normalized”.
We’ve been gone a little over a year and look back and wonder “what the hell were we thinking?”

It is a very liberating experience leaving your hometown, regardless of the reason.

I hope you at least signed the recall petition before you left

Yup. Had a discussion with a few friends a couple weeks ago. Most in the group are going to or have already signed the recall petition. Two friends said they aren’t and that they still support Teedy.
I was floored. No real reason given other than one has issues with Helena Moreno for some vague reason.
I’ve some other good friends in Old Metairie, and it’s like a whole different world there, and only about a mile from where I live in Orleans. A totally different and safer vibe. Stepford vs Rwanda if you ask me.
I’m actively planning my departure from this hell hole, too.

You live in a red state... You were living in a blue city...
Side note: I brought my daughter to school this morning... The streets are so fricked up around Dominican it's just laughable. With construction, that was started but not even close to finished, Walmsley is completely blocked off, so I usually come down Burdette from Earhart, and that street is a complete cluster.
Leaving, going up Pine Street, to Earhart, is like driving on a country dirt road... I really don't know how the people that live around there put up with it.

It's the subtle things that reveal the lie.

Wife and I sold our house in NOLA in June and hit the road; been exploring the country since; I miss some good pals there but nothing else; Better weather almost everywhere else this time of year and there’s great food everywhere these days.

Barely.
Louisiana has been run by Democrats at every level of state/local govt for 95% of its miserable existence.

I didn’t leave due to the crime; I will never forgive those forkin idiots for what they did to us during the pandemic…

John Bel Edwards (born September 16, 1966) is an American politician and attorney serving as the 56th governor of Louisiana since 2016. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served as the Democratic leader of the Louisiana House of Representatives for two terms

Now, tell us about our Senators and Reps...
Last time the state had more Democrat votes for President was Clinton...and before that it was Kennedy..

State has a democrat for governor and one cuck senator so I wouldn’t call it a red state at the moment. While it should absolutely be a red state every election the rurals up north get hung up on something about(insert candidate here) and stay their arse home pouting and here we are two terms in to a democrat.
