Is everyone about to lose their shirt in this economic fallout?

Or does everything just move sideways for like 3 years with stagflation, and the market just stays flat?

too late to sell now. stick it out and pray for the best. but once it gets high again i do not blame anyone for liquidating if they are near retirement and had enough of this. problem with these high paying dividends is they are very volatile. safer investment means way less returns in retirement and that may not cut it therefore needing it all to be in RE rentals, hard money loans, etc. for example most cannot afford to have hundreds of thousands in QYLD to watch it crash like this if you were retired and needed that to live off of. All you could do is keep drawing out the dividend. you may not be in a position to reinvest it if you needed that income to live off.
slippery slope.
slippery slope.

Great reset be with you.

You'll only lose your shirt if you sell. Can't restate it enough.
Do you need most or all of your assets in the next three years?

No but I'm a first time homeowner as of March 2022, it was a new build where I locked the price in May 2021.
Just nervous about feeling trapped in my house. Do have a decent amount liquid at the moment to wait this out if needed. Don't plan on touching what's in the market, but still makes me nervous.

Market isn't going to stay flat. That's not what markets do. Only option is to ride this storm out and try to catch some dips as the weather gets worse.

I hope the election in 6 weeks brings us some relief.

Did you buy the house to flip or to live in for at least 10 years? If the latter and your job is fairly recession-proof (meaning you can continue to pay your mortgage and utilities), don't worry. This will last a while and your home will lose value in the short (and possibly mid-term), but the longer the term you are looking at, the more likely you'll more than recoup any value lost during this.

I will take whichever causes me not to get laid off. That’s worst case scenario for me.

From your lips to God's ears, but between now and then we have a lot more pain in store for us (and likely after).

I appreciate that my friends on the left endeavored to pin every bit of negative market news on Trump, but now that my friends on the right are doing the same thing, I have a question:
Is there a current national index in any country in which that index is markedly outperforming ours and that country is exhibiting national economic politics that we should emulate?
Because while I’m by no means an expert on the subject, I’m bouncing around looking at different national indexes, and I’m seeing a lot of graphs that look roughly like ours, or worse.

Stuck like chuck in alot of companies right now at least they are quality companies minus UPST. Knew i should have toke the loss on that one. I got close to 20 years before retirement but i do need to keep some powder to DCA when the dust starts to settle. My 2 biggest losers are AMZN and GOOGLE. Not a horrible pair of losers to have

Outrageous lawsuits have brought many productive companies to ruin.

I'm going to load some GOOG at some point during this decline. Just not sure when.

It’s like the last 30 months never happened! Except everything is twice as expensive as it was 30 months ago and I’m only making 15% more.

For months people have been saying get out of some of these stocks with ridiculous PE and market cap or speculative stocks with no product. Yet here we are and peoppe are shocked
Go look at history and you will find the things to buy now to be successful through this time.

Shutting down the global economy all while printing a shite load of money has consequences

I’ll say the same thing I always say in this thread.
I’ll keep throwing in my 10% of everything I ever make and ride this out for the next 35 years.
