They also said they were done with the NFL and NOLA in general but they’re all lined up for saints games and in Mardi Gras krewes again.
St. Tammany is like Texas with all their bravado.

For a first offender? Meh.
Not saying what she did was OK, but very few people go to jail for their first offense.

A relevant story to compare it to would be that Suarez guy who beat the shite out of an old man in Mandeville.
He punched him one time. Inexcusable but far from "beating the shite out of" or the vicious beating this attacker gave and no not really relevant at all.

A year? One year for assault.

Don't blame the judge. The DA accepted this deal. He's the one you should be blaming. This did not go to trial. The judge simply accepted the plea the DA and defense agreed to.
Swartz is one of the good ones. I suppose he could have rejected the agreed sentence, but that rarely if ever happens in a criminal case.
This student/animal should have gotten at least 5 years of hard time, IMO though.

What do you call someone who batters the infirm? Seriously. Tell us what would be the appropriate word to label such a person.

Suarez basically got away with it though.

Does she strike you as the type to want to go back to school?

Once the sec 8 housing started popping up like crazy it was over.
Madisonville/Mandeville next, all that d.r. horton housing down 22 = say goodbye to your safe space. They have 10 years max.

It’s not clear to me from the article if the DA made a plea deal with her or one that specified time served.
I know the judge can sentence however but not sure if plea deals are just for charges or also include details like time served. Also, it seems odd that the DA would have done so considering there’s no question as to her guilt, there’s video of it ffs.

Just how close are we, as a society, to widespread vigilantism?
