HWRF which nailed Ian’s intensity so far showing 975mb at South Carolina landfall. That’s a solid Cat 1 borderline 2.
I hate this storm it needs to die
It appears to be going to exit over Delaware. Wonder if the President's beach house can handle wind and an angry tropical storm?

And insurance shouldn’t pay for it….just plain negligence
Well let's stop paying for any damage caused by speeding, or texting, or not driving around a storm and getting hail damage.

You an insurance company cuck?
It’s not my responsibility to pay for other people’s negligence. It’s not the insurance company that gets screwed, everybody’s rates go up.

Curious to see pics from Punta Gorda today. Wondering if the airport survived.

Will the people that don't get paid get a refund of their premiums?

Supposedly that’s part of the FWB Hooters.

Rooftop shots coming from Fort Myers and there's debris everywhere but that particular shot looked like everything held up pretty well

So you're admitting that insurance companies don't even bear the risk, they just pass it on and continue the chain of fricking over their premium payers.

They were showing aerial footage of collapsed Sanibel causeway. Craziness

Just heard from father-in-law from Punta Gorda.
Ground floor Apt held up. Still has a roof.
No power and lots of banging all day yesterday.
Hopefully his beer cooler washing machine is fully stocked.

Does fire trump flood damage here for insurance purposes? I guess in this case the flood would be the cause of the fire.

Desantis just said that Lee and Charlotte county are basically completely off the grid. Making it sound like it will take some time to get power back up in Lee County cause they said lots of things have to actually be rebuilt and not just lines reattached.
I know it’s been a while, but I wouldn’t expect anything less than what we saw in the 9th ward and St Bernard for Katrina.
It won’t look like Grand Isle did for Ida nor will it look like Mexico Beach for Michael as the building codes in Ft Myers/Naples are much more stringent due to most of the homes being newer.
Infrastructure will have to be rebuilt and anything 8’ and below will have to be gutted but not torn down (unless the owner wants to).
I don’t believe you will find too many structures that were just flattened or disappeared like Waveland during Katrina.
