Go to the NHC site and find Hurricane Michael . It has everything from the charts and when it started. Nobody predicted what that hurricane became

Fashion him a diaper. If he doesn't want to use them on his own, maybe the embarrassment will be a big motivator.

ow for Hurricane Michael it was beautiful two days before it landed and the day before it hit other than some clouds you would’ve had no idea what was offshore. Between that, no AC and the mosquitos I can see why the gulf coast wasn’t as populated back then.
We were staying in PSJ and evacuated the day before Michael hit. We were at stump hole playing in the water 12 hours before it took out the entire town and everything near it. 24 hours before, you had no idea. 12 hours before, the surf was rough but still swimmable off CSB. We were there in July, they are still trying to rebuild. Mexico Beach is lagging way behind

Our 4 year old shepherd/lab mix 3 weeks after TPLO surgery and an 8th month old fearless puppy notevensuremix went out during the teeth of Ida and did their business while I was checking on fallen trees. They’ll be fine unless he s super old I’d imagine
Eta- location was Madisonville so no as fully on the frontline of that storm

Ehhh. I live outside BR, and I'm not entirely sure I share your optimism. FLA has severe flooding, wind, and tornadoes. We have random, flying bullets.
I wasn’t telling them to move haha.
Going from Sarasota to N BR would be… rough.

How do charging stations work standing in 2 feet of water?
It can be a shocking experience.

I can vouch for her pet watching abilities
Better to be out of danger. Plus, she’s the bestest host ever.
And there’s wine. Just not as much as VAbuckeye

Very very kind of you. Thanks so much. Saved your email just in case. Really appreciated.

Not sure if google maps traffic is correct but looks like there is time to get out. I would if I were you. Trust me, the adventure aspect of riding out, even a minor hurricane gets old after about an hour after power goes out.

Most of the people down there were working class or retirees and underinsured.
So their 1970’s bungalow got wiped out and instead of retiring by the ocean they had to move because they couldn’t afford to rebuild with the new hurricane codes.
Was really sad hearing some of their stories. A lot of what’s going up now looked to me to be out of state rental type houses, that town will never be the same.

These threads and all of the incredible data, imaging, and forecasting always make me think about what it must have been like 100 years ago for coastal communities. No warning. “Honey, it looks like rain today”
You should read Isaac's Storm about the Galveston one.
