Not gonna lie I am jealous of Steve getting this opportunity to fly into a hurricane.

Lady we sold our house to in Louisiana was killed when a tree fell on her car while driving to work. It was a right after we had a hurricane drop a lot of rain. Tree uprooted and she was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

So what percentage of “Floridians” are new enough to the affected areas to have no idea what hell they’re about to go through?

Couple that with MiamiDade/ Palm Beach suddenly becoming more affected…… yikes some newbies are in for a ride …

Looks like we’ve got good agreement now between the models that we’ll see an actual landfall rather than Ian clinging to the coast. NHC come reflects that, of course. Gonna be a wild ride for many in Florida.

Find a DC powered pump and run it straight off your car battery.

Traffic is building on I-4, approaching Disney, and on the turnpike, by Clermont, both approaching Orlando.

I see this one in stock near me, but it only displaces 290 gph

Didn’t know if getting an inverter for my car battery would be a better option. Never done anything like this before

Looks like Cuba was nothing more than a speed bump for Ian unfortunately.

Yep, I don’t think the center will spend enough time over Cuba to hamper it much.

What exactly are you trying to do with the pump?

Displace as much water as possible from the front of my house to the back

I don’t need a 1hp huge pump, but a 1/6hp that moves 1300 gph would be more than enough.

You may be better off with an inverter than trying to go straight DC.

Depends on the pump, but you will have les voltage drop.

Now estimating a 1-3am hit on Tampa Thursday morning. Just 24 hours ago it was a Friday morning hit. People just lost 24 hours of preparation and evacuation. Damn. Thing moved up and still projected for a middle of the night hit. Damn. God Bless west Florida
