Can you punt?

I played Australian Rules Football for about 10 years (strictly at an amateur level), so like most of us from Australia's southern states, it's about the only transferable skill I've got. Very doubtful I could have punted at the level required to play college football though, and I'm too old now anyway.

On that note, I've crossed paths with Brad Wing a few times who is originally from Sandringham about 15 minutes up the road from where I live. Good bloke.

There’s gonna be folks lining up to host you and feed you at their tailgates. Good luck and enjoy your time!

Get to campus by 10am. Wander around campus, introduce yourself. Trust me…telling people you came from Australia for the game, you’ll be fed all day and you won’t spend a dime.
Plan on being in your seats 30 min prior to kickoff.
Enjoy!

'tis true. When I was in Baton Rouge, we had an Australian roommate for one year who took down more tail than a Bambi movie.

Your best bet is to not come decked out in LSU gear but wear something that indicates you are from Australia. I mean, if you make a tshirt that reads "Aussie here to cheer the Tigers", you will be treated like a king by every tailgate you pass.

You might as well TELL this dude to wear a Tiger tail. Please don’t make our guests embarrass themselves.

Thanks,
manegment

Did anyone else read this thread in an Australian accent?

The beers won't be near as strong as what you're used to, so you might want to go the bourbon route!

You're right. He should probably do everything he can to look like he just rolled in from Denham vs coming from a half a globe away. I know at our tailgate, every guy that walks by in Tiger gear we shout out "hey, come over here and try this jambalaya."

Went to George Gregan’s wallaby debut against the all blacks at Sydney Football Stadium in 1994… Where you from?

If you get to longing for some authentic Aussie beer, you can find Cooper’s at a few places in town, mainly Calandro’s.

What a memorable, amazing day. Thanks to everybody we crossed paths with, especially Jaydeaux, for the hospitality. The atmosphere yesterday both inside and outside the stadium was incredible.

Our 2yo pup (who would routinely sit with me at 2/3am back home to watch LSU games live, and for whom we’ve got a suitcase full of LSU branded pet kit) was tragically hit and killed by a car back home about 48 hours before the game so my girlfriend and I had been feeling very subdued. To experience a famous win under those circumstances and to take our mind off things for four hours was extra special. I’m not ashamed to admit I was a little emotional come 10.20pm last night.

Thanks to everybody here. Y’all are the best fans in the world.
