With USC and UCLA jetting to the Big 10, the remaining schools are going to take a financial hit. With the changes to the Playoffs coming, schools like Colorado may need to see if they can return to the Big 12. I'm not sure that will help but it would at least get them on east coast TV earlier and maybe that league could survive with Colorado and maybe the 2 Arizona Schools.

If Utah can win, Colorado can win. Admin has to decide that they want to though.

Dorrell was a head scratching hire to begin with. Can’t even call him a retread hire since he was out of a Head coaching gig for so long. They wanted a minority but instead of going with an up and comer or established college lower level head guy they choose a guy who is suited for the professional Game
Outside of Tucker, they’ve made some bad hires for 20 years..

What are you even trying to say?
Did you just throw out two older names associated with Colorado football and shoehorn them into some shitty meme that you’ve heard 1000 times?
I don’t get it

Colorado used to be so, so good too. Bill McCartney and Gary Barnett had the Buffs a top tier team. They, like Nebraska, have really fallen on hard times.

They should bring back Neuheisal. He's apparently already being rumored as a Herm Edwards replacement.
He could probably get them at least to 7 wins every year in watered down Pac12.

I still believe Dan Hawkins was a good hire at the time. He really got Boise State rolling as a program and brought in Chris Petersen as his OC. Unfortunately, he took over CU after the tumultuous end of the Barnett era, and the school was determined to neuter the program.
I remember an article at the time stating CU had the smallest coaching staff budget of any major conference program. They were set up to fail.

Mel Tucker was just wrong to leave after one season.
He left for a place that actually supports the football team and isn't in a dying conference. A very wise decision.

It is oddly satisfying seeing hires that we all knew were terrible end up being just that: terrible. The same goes for Herm Edwards.

Nothing will change until the admin decide they want to truly invest to build a winner and do what it takes to get there.
No reason Colorado can’t be right in the hunt in their conference every year given full resources. Unlike Nebraska, they’re also in a really nice area to attract recruits. Easy access to the front range and the (albeit expensive) town of Boulder are really nice, plus a short drive from Denver.

Weren't they both taking advantage of some obscure rule that's now dead that let them give almost unlimited scholarships?
That and a top notch juicing regiment?

When you have an administration that could give a frick about football, you have to pay uninspiring hires a premium to take the job.

Part of their success was what Baylor was accused of, which was bringing in gangbangers and selling them on fricking white girls.
