"Visitor spending in New Orleans reached an all-time high of $5.2 billion in 2019, according to the Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism. It fell to $2.6 billion in 2020, and recovered last year to $3.8 billion."
Even with Bidenflation, I don't see $5.2 billion happening soon.
From Time Mag.: "For the first time since COVID halted movement around the world, leisure travel has returned to 2019 levels, according to a report released by the Mastercard Economics Institute."
They will use Covid as an excuse while other areas thrive.
I spoke with two out-of-state clients yesterday, who both frequented N.O. in the past. They both stated that they had no desire to go to N.O. I've always feared N.O. would become Detroit. It may be well on the way there.

What I can figure out is why the hell aren't all of the rich Uptown and Lakeview people, the French Quarter property owners and business owners, the Sidney Torres business like people in the city, etc... not kicking and screaming that something changes. Are they all just quiet quitting? Yes there is The NOLA Coalition but that isn't enough. Where is the public support for the recall? Where is the public outrage from the citizens? You hear more from the people that live in Jefferson and St. Tammany Parish than anybody in the city.

Excuse after excuse, the cycle never changes.

If having the #1 murder rate doesn’t qualify a city for being called a shite hole, I don’t know what will.

The WSJ is one of MANY media outlets that has encouraged this behavior. Odd they point it out. Keep voting Democrat. We are almost there!!!

I'm sure Will Sutton, racist editrorial opinion writer for The Advocate, will ignore these statistics. He conveniently leaves out factual stats that point blame for crime on black perpetrators.

Well they did win the initial OT murder bowl

Must be an unruly statue still running amuck in the area, preventing the beautiful Afro Pick monument from being able to radiate its full, peace emitting, neighborhood calming corona.

Not reading.
Did they give any blame to the mayor?

You get what you vote for. Or you get what other people vote for when you decide not to vote. Sucks for Nola residents but it’s their fault for continuing to stand by and let it happen.

Maybe Teedy has been negotiating with the sister cities to take some of these criminals in and give them a fresh start where they’re not literally hunted in the streets.

DA's office not doing their job either.
I keep seeing this but wasn’t Jason Williams just elected a year ago? Every high profile case thus far, he’s seemed to do the right thing. The kids that carajacked the older lady and dragged her are being tried as adults. The Bridge City kids that broke out are being tried as adults. What am I missing here? It seems the judges may be more of an issue, but idk.
