Seems pretty interesting but not many reviews and most are mediocre / either it’s really good but doesn’t fit the critics world view or it’s actually good - any opinions here?

Wife and I watched it. It was pretty good and interesting. It is a show that you have to over look things though

I like Emily Deschanel. Fan of both of the Deschanel sisters.

Losing interest with every episode. Even as it ramps up.

Overlook things? What does that mean?

Thanks again for the input by the way

I watched two episodes an stopped. Its a shitty teeny bopper high school drama masked as a horror series.

The 6.0 rating on IMDB is more or less spot on in my opinion.

Without giving anything away.

An example:

Like they do this and this and no police are involved, in the real world you know they would have to report it to the police.

They have few of those

That's pretty much most tv shows though. If I let stuff like that bother me, I'd have nothing to watch other than documentaries. I did like the show. We binged it over two nights. It was good not great. I would like to see a season 2 to see where they take it.

I tried watching it. Felt like I was watching a poorly produced Lifetime movie. Stopped watching midway through ep 1

Damn. Was hoping this wasn’t the case, but after watching the trailer I definitely thought it might go this way. Just some bland paint-by-numbers jawn made for the 15 lb overweight basic bitch sitting at home with her pumpkin spice candle burning.

Good to know though. Won’t waste my time on it.

Before I start, I will say that I am enjoying the show so far and the story is pretty interesting. I’m 2 episodes in and it’s definitely creepy but Jesus Christ it is a liberals wet dream.

1) Multi cultural family that adopted a young Asian girl after having two daughters of their own.

2) Middle daughter is crushing on a metro sexual black guy that is wearing skinny jeans and wearing a shirt with Ruth Bader Ginsburg on it that says “Notorious RBG”.

Next time you see him he is wearing a shirt that says “Feminist” on it.

3) every white dude so far is either a pushover, evil or a stereotypical jock.

4) the oldest daughter is dating stereotypical white jock guy but is secretly a lesbian who loves her black girl friend.

Again. This is just two episodes in.

Also, they REALLY want you to know this is in Ohio. Every other shot or scene someone is wearing Ohio State/Cleveland Browns gear and saying “Go Bucks!/Go Browns!”

And on top of that, this is set during the first week of school. Early august. And they’re talking about how the Browns have some big divisional games coming up to try and help elevate their standings.

Like, mother fricker, the pre season just started. What are you talking about???

I quit near the end of episode two. It's obviously not really going anywhere. This and Echoes have been major disappointments to me. I made it through 2 episodes of Echoes but it was bad too.

Both of these shows could have been fantastic but the writing is so ridiculous. Kind of like Defending Jacob on Apple Plus.

Haven't watched it but I'd like to know when Netflix starting using "Satanic" as a genre description for shows like this. First noticed it used on an animated show that started streaming on there a few weeks ago.

The final episode is a mofo. That is all I got without giving it away.

Just finished it.

It's weak.

Way too much woke bullshite which poisons the story and makes it impossible to like the characters.

Nowhere near enough development of the satanic cult, which comes off as wooden and stupid.

And absolutely terrible plot flow. It's predictable and plodding. It's like they're trying to aim it at teenagers, but the teenage characters - even Mae, who escaped from the cult - are the least interesting ones in the show. So you get boring high school drama filling up half the airtime, and you're sitting there wondering why you should care.

Between this and Echoes, you get the real impression that Netflix needs to fire everybody in their acquisitions and production team and start over. They just can't seem to find and make good stories, and that more than anything else is why they're struggling to gain subscribers.

I was able to overlook some of the high school stereotype stuff and “wokeness” and I’m glad I did. The last 10-15 minutes of Ep 5 had me like “holy shite!”

That’s where we left off last night and I’m interested to see how it wraps up in the final 3 shows.
