Has the body been identified? Memphis isn’t exactly the kind of place where the discovery of multiple bodies would be unusual.

The media will want this story buried quickly.
He should be buried quickly right after his skull caught some hot lead behind the left ear.

And they always have a history of violence.
Maybe not this specific story, but our country has a bleeding heart cancer and the cost is innocent lives like in this story. I hope some day the collective have enough and force another pendulum swing, but I doubt it.

I agree but skip the hot lead.

Why should this guy get a roof and three squares a day for the rest of his life at taxpayer expense?
It's cruel and unusual punishment, not cruel or unusual punishment. Public hangings to send a message to the rest of the "community" is cruel but not unusual in human history. Hang this guy high in the town square. Give other predators pause.

My point exactly. Get enough cops scouring Shelby County for a body and they'll likely find a few more unrelated to Eliza Fletcher.
But this body, while still unidentified, was apparently found in on the same block as the suspect's brother.
Memphis is violent and bodies are common, but they're not exactly "more than 1 body per city block" common.

Not officially but news outlets were reporting FBI presence at scene, along with MPD brass, if that lends weight to probability.

That certainly points to this being Eliza. fricking scumbag that did this needs to be shot. Tonight.

On the bright side, him not cooperating and them finding the body anyway means they're going to go in dry

I think we can safely assume that it is her.

I understand bleeding hearts, we all have our soft spots too. I think they are just naive, and often do more harm than they do good though. You just cant nurture the world into behaving properly.

Must have been one hell of an impulse kill to not plan to dispose of the body in a random location without a personal connection.
The police chief was saying they thought it was premeditated and that perhaps Eliza was specifically targeted, but this seems more likely to be an impulse. Hell, he even drove a car with a distinctive busted taillight.

Yeah sounds like he was on the hunt for the first woman he came across and she was the poor unlucky soul. I have a female coworker who doesn’t live far from there, must be a terrifying thought.

I used to kind of joke that at 4am, even the criminals are asleep. I guess that was an incorrect assumption.

I understand Memphis just elected a Soros or “woke” DA that many presume will be soft on criminals. Will her family’s community standing and influence be enough to counteract that, again presuming that’s the course the DA would follow?
The DA can't override state law. This is a clear cut murder case. That's even assuming the DA wants to go soft on this POS.

He wasn't thinking more than 10 minutes into the future.
"Pretty lady...ME WANT!"
That's the extent of his motive and planning.

Israel Keyes himself said he chose his victims on a whim. He spotted a random victim and instantly it was like "I am committed to killing this person and nothing will stop me."
That's the scariest shite. You can't even save yourself from being the killer's "type" (assuming you can know ahead of time what the killer's "type" is) because there is no "type."
It's a sudden itch that needs to be scratched.
I know Abston has a kidnapping on his record, but I'd seriously look into connections to other missing persons in the Memphis metro area because he seems like he could be a Keyeseque "under the radar" serial killer that has finally surfaced.

Do you really think this guy has any impulse control whatsoever?

I wouldn't mind seeing this guy burned alive on TV.
Medieval crime had serious consequences, we've gotten soft on criminals and it shows in our daily lives.
