Wow, so Eliza left her wallet at the movie theater on Wednesday. Cleaning crew finds it and turns it in, but tPOS sees it and snags it.

Did he spend Thursday stalking her and plotting his crime, then lay in wait Friday morning to snatch her?

That poor woman and poor family. I would pull a Gary on that mother fricker.

He shouldn't. He should get Lee Harvey Oswalded during the peep walk.

Here's 1000 more upvotes.

I had heard he stole a wallet the day before, but I had heard it was “another woman’s wallet.”

Was it Eliza’s all along?

Memphis Suspect Swiped Another Woman’s Wallet The Day Before

(…and again, my thoughts on it being impulsive as opposed to premeditated are less to do with my thoughts on the degree of murder charge deserved…frankly, he can hang for all I care…and more so what types of criminal he is and whether he can be linked to other similar abductions since he was released from prison.)

I’d vote to stake him down during rising tide and ensure he’s still alive and incompletely drowned while the crabs start to feed on him. Hopefully this process takes 24+ hours and multiple high and low tides to complete.

So this Animal will get sent back to prison pretty much where he wanted to be. Then get the death penalty and live for another 30 years waiting to be executed. Seem about right? Something has to change because right now these thugs are running the streets killing with no repercussions. So they are sent to prison to live off the taxpayer for 50 years.

Ahh to be fair I was reading a tweet that kept using “Victim” as the identifier of whose wallet was stolen. Twitter is all fricked up so three images were embedded in one. Because it was in conjunction with another Eliza tweet, I assumed it was hers.

I would have to read myself—but is that what that article says? Another woman’s wallet?

All new death penalty cases should be mandated to be carried out 365 days from sentencing.

In 2022 there is no “whoopsie” or “we got it wrong” like in the 70s-80s. Your arse is on camera. Your DNA is at the scene. Your Apple Watch shows you were there. Etc.

364 days to appeal. On day 365 you get a dose of lead to the brain.

Oh, and it’s aired live, nation wide. On every non childrens channel.

Well that's just 100% wrong.

You sure he did not have help in all of this? It's plausible obviously that he did this all alone, but this seems so random. A jogger at 4-430 in the morning. How does he incapacitate her so fast? Get her in the vehicle and drive away. If you are going to grab someone off the street, you would want to do it fast and then drive off to a place where you can do whatever you are going to do.

Did he maybe kill her first then grab the body. Was the car a weapon? I mean, you take someone off the street and they are still alive and kicking is a problem if you are the kidnapper. Does he throw her in the backseat and drive off, then stop, then go in the back and then kill her?

Not arguing that he was intimately involved, but he had help more than likely....the brother or a younger accomplice.

Nah, it was someone else’s wallet. The information MPD gathered in that case helped them identify this jackass.

Possibly for clean up, but it sounds like they got the attack on video. He parked the SUV and waited for her to get near it. Ambushed her. Fought. Threw her in the passenger side.

They even know they sat there for four minutes before driving off.

Will a grown man with a gun or knife or fists have that much trouble abducting a woman?

Without the video released, one can only speculate, but how “violent” was the abduction? Perhaps some pulling and tugging and scratching, but probably if he had a gun on her at that immediate moment, she probably (unfortunately) reasoned it was not worth fighting back too violently in the moment.

Without the video released

Since we see videos posted of attack after attack in places like NYC posted all over the internet and now this attack, allegedly videoed, I'm assuming it is University of Memphis video, and since they're a government agency, they won't release the video to any public viewing?

As long as there isn’t a risk of unduly victimizing the family by releasing the video (I don’t think the video shows the murder/rape, so they probably can’t sufficiently argue the family has an interest in it not being released), then they will probably eventually release it.

(Edit: the state probably as an interest in not widely disseminating the video if it shows the victim being disemboweled and raped on the spot.

Also, as opposed to videos of other attacks which are posted to YouTube before the police have a chance to confiscate it, this video is probably easier for them to control as it already belongs to the state)

Right now, while it looks like they have their man, they probably don’t want to risk giving out any information that can lead to the destruction of evidence. Once they have all the evidence they need and there’s no risk in releasing the video, they’ll probably release it.

It’s her…ugh. I live close to Memphis... The community is just shocked at this random act of violence. Pray for her husband & children.

That in itself is premeditated. When you park your borrowed car along a road, the driver's side door opens onto the road.

The one released photo shows the passenger's door is on the road side.

He knew, in advance, that he was going to toss someone in that door and wanted the convenience of proximity.
