Yeah I agree. People have already made up their minds about this show on both sides. I will say GOPtiger seemed like he gave a honest review. Not sure why they premiered this on the opening night of college football. Will try to watch tomorrow

I haven’t made up my mind. The visuals are pretty stunning so far, kinda a slow first episode but it is building.

John campea hated the first episode because he said it was so slow in review. He said he almost walked out of theater. I was surprised to hear that from him

I thought Episode 1 was slow too. I hope people watch Episode 2, instead of giving up after Episode 1. There's a lot more interesting stuff happening in Episode 2, in my opinion.

Just from a visual standpoint
Because they're both filled with CGI shite shows, and the original films were not. They made significant use of scaled models and practical effects.

There are parts that look better than others, but none of it feels like LOTR or Tolkein.
If anything, it feels much more like The Dark Crystal Netflix show than anything else.
The Elves are the biggest frick up by the show. The hair alone is abominable.
What the fricking fuk is this:
The casting is also so bad. Elrond is beyond terrible and Galadriel is just simply a slap in tbe face to everything Tolkein dedicated his life to.

We enjoyed the first episode. Yeah, the elves look weird, but the acting, scenery, story, and music all seem pretty good so far.

Just watched the first episode and am very excited about this series. First episode was definitely a set-up episode, but I think this could end up being quality tv - Amazon did a great job producing this
