That class was ranked 6th and had 25 commits.
Jay Ward
Anthony Bradford
The rest transferred, kicked off the team, suspended, or went to the NFL

One of the most disappointing classes ever outside of Cade York and Stingley.

That sucks. I think the 2021 class (true sophomores) will be the catalyst for a future run like the 2017 class was for '19.

Flott was really good too. Ika and Brooks played a role in the Natty team as true freshman but left after Pelini got here and ran them off with his stupidity. Dumb arse tried to get 195 lb Marcel Brooks to play stack linebacker and wouldn’t even play Ika

'21-23 should set us up for an extended run of playoff contention. We will see, everything is volatile right now.

The 2020 class, which was ranked #4, isn't much better
Boutte
Roy
Ojulari
Kole Taylor
Gaye
That's it
The two classes that should be the cornerstone of your team will represent 30% of your starting 22. People shouldn't wonder why some analysts have LSU set for a bad year.

This. Everyone just thinks because we’re LSU we will dominate the first game like we did for a decade.
Honestly if transfers weren’t allowed like back in the day we are looking at another losing season this year. Luckily that won’t be the case with the stud transfers we got this year.

2018 class is even worse. Ed's recruiting is vastly overrated. He's a good bagman and set of boots on the ground, but simply cannot successfully manage the long term maintenance of a roster.

I picked another team (at random) to compare:
And their (#1) 2019 recruiting class (by position just because it is easier):
TE Billingsley DNA (Does not appear)
RB Robinson DNA
RB Trey Sanders #3 RB
QBs Tyson and (Taulia) Tagovailoa DNA
OL Kight is #2 LT
C Dalcourt is #1 C
OL Quick, Bowles, and Neal DNA
LB Mwikuta, Lee and Harris DNA
K Reichard is #1 PK
DT Dale is #1 NG (shared)
DT Alfano DNA
DT Young is #1 DE
DT Sopsher DNA
DE Harris DNA
DE Eboigbe is #2 DE (on his side)
DE Ingraham DNA
DBs Turnage, Carter and Banks DNA
DB Battle is #1 SS
ATH Hellams and Metchie DNA
So, this #1 class, nationally, yields 5 starters (including the placekicker) and 3 others (including what must be considered a critical backup at LT) down the depth chart over this same period.

Circular logic.
If transfers weren’t allowed, a lot of those players would still be here.

I thought Ika left because Ed wanted a SoCal looking 4-man attacking front. 4-man attacking front. Spell it out for you - four.
And Ika was a NG. No place for Ika in the 4-man attacking front.
This was an Ed casualty; not Bo.
And Ika is abusing the centers in his new home - far away from the 4-man attacking front.

2019 already has 4 players in the nfl, and will prob have 4 more
I don’t think they has issues identifying talent. It was retaining it.
And a year after bragging about Maruiccu’s character test in 2019, they sure have had a lot of shite heads

Yeah, I think the 3rd year would be a better indicator than the 4th. Not that our ‘19 class didn’t have a bunch of busts, but I doubt there’s that many top teams that have a bunch of guys from the ‘19 class starting. They’ve either gone to the NFL or been passed up by younger, better guys. And Bama may actually be the outlier with 5 starters since guys seem more willing to stick around until their 3rd and 4th years to get on the field there. And I’m talking about top 5-6, legit playoff contending teams. Of course worse recruiting programs will have 4th year starters—their older guys aren’t typically good enough to leave early and their younger ones aren’t good enough to beat out the older ones.
Not to defend Orgeron, I’m just not sure this particular stat is very high on the list of reasons for indictment. I think it’s probably about par for the course. Especially with the portal.

How many all Americans on that random team come from transfers

Not really...of the guys who transferred out, I think Ricks and McGlothern are the only two who wouldn't have left even under the old transfer rules.
That's 2 guys we lost compared to 15 guys we gained...without the portal we'd be pretty good at starting corner but overall the depth of the team would be a disaster.

Agreed about flott and ika but i think they were just trying to find a spot for brooks.
He hasn't done anything at tcu and i believe he even switched to receiver after not finding a spot on offense.

That was a nice class. You left of ricks, gilbert, shanahan, cox, mcglothern, dumervil, and guillory. All those players started at lsu or were in the 2 deep.
