Neighbor’s dog

Just a quick question for those who have more experience with animal behavior. I’m having an issue with neighbors dog defecating on my lawn. The neighbor says he’ll get a leash ( brilliant idea, genius ) to prevent this from continuing, but I’m just curious about something: if I am in my yard when the dog comes along , I chase it off when it tries to do it on my lawn. By doing this, does that mean when I am NOT in my yard the dog is encouraged to use my lawn because the opportunity is there since there is no deterrent or does my “shooing away” the dog occasionally teach it that my lawn is “verboten”? That’s a good question, ain’t it? Because I’m not sure which action by me works better.

I would say you need to go defecate on your neighbors lawn. This will show him and the dog that you mean business.
You must assert dominance quickly

Smear the shite on his home's door handles.

Bag it and put it on the neighbor's Welcome mat

In scaring the dog away you may make him run into street or scared of other people
I’d talk to the neighbor again, guessing neighborhood, is there an HOA or are you in city limits to get animal control involved?
Don’t be mean to dog because owner is an arse

The neighbor should apologize and go pick the dogs shite up. If he does not, go shove it back into his yard.

WHat kind of dog? Where do you live? (In or Out of Town)

Paintball gun.
Throw the crap against the neighbors house or bag it and put it behind his car tires. Your neighbor obviously doesn't respect you enough to correct the problem, no need to show him any.
People walking their dogs in our neighborhood don't like to clean it up either. Guy tried to leave his poop, played the I don't have a bag with me. Gave him a bag and told him I know which house is yours and you won't like it if I bring you the poop. He cleaned it up and slunked away.

these threads are silly, just go talk to your neighbor and handle it. pretty simple

I've had a cat come over and vomit in my yard. I got my red ryder BB gun and started tacking his arse.
Unfortunately I ended up taking his eye out. So now he's got 1 eye, but he doesn't come around anymore.

I'm trying to train my own dog to NOT shite on the sidewalk. Pupper is afraid of grass.

Why don’t you ask the dog to kindly stop pooping on your lawn and to stay off it even when you’re not there? Did you try that yet?
