It’s an obvious move if WB really isn’t going to bring him back as Superman, which is a poor decision.

Could be, but I really think a casting like Henry Cavill would fill the gap left by Robert Downey Jr.
Would be a shame to use that on a villain, unless he becomes THE villain with a large amount of screentime in multiple movies.

He really was the best representation of Superman and I love the Reeve version. Him as Hyperion would be great.

MCU films are trash. They can't even be considered films. People need to stop stop supporting them and just read the comics instead (from the earlier times, not modern sjw crap). The comics had far better stories and representations of the characters.
