Guys are getting it in at Cali.
Unfortunately Zion seems to not be present.
On the flip side Dyson Daniels looks amazing.

Shamit is saying the same thing about Dyson. At the same time we heard the same things about NAW and Nashville Jax in previous offseasons so I’m not putting too much value in it yet

DD will be the 2nd best defensive player the Pels have...from the moment he first steps on the court. Gonna be fun to see Herb AND DD on the court at the same time. Some serious D will be played.

I think we are all underestimating the defensive impact Herb will have on Zion.

On Zion...It's hard to NOT improve your defensive effort...if you are on the court with Herb. Plus...another solid defender, which I think DD will be...can only help relieve a bit of the pressure on Herb to have to try & help all over the court.

Yeah, defensive effort can make a team have a competition within each other. Zion was a pretty solid defender in college.

there is a universe where herb, Ingram, zion, JV, Murphy, Jose and Daniels are all plus defenders (or at least neutral) AND they have a potent offense AND they don’t have to run up and down the court in order to have that potent offense. Fewer possessions given up on D and fewer possessions total for both teams if they don’t have to run like crazy.

they’ll have a lot of transition (easy) chances which will help them be efficient but not the gentry-ball running like zions 1st year. You give up too make opposition chances when you do that every time down.

I hope Z is there, but we do have to acknowledge that Z has more paid endorsements and brand partnerships than the rest of the 14 players, combined. And the summertime is a natural time to have to fulfill some of those obligations. I’m sure he will be there with the team if he can. If it’s a 2 day camp, he might miss it due to other obligations, but if it’s 7-10 days, I’m sure he will be there at some point.

One thing I will say that has stood out a bit is the handfull of DD highlights that have been released of him working out against other pros, he's made a lot of off the bounce shots from 2 and 3. Who knows, maybe it's 5 highlight makes on 20 shots, and he's missed a ton, but if it's real, it's game changing for the Pels, both short and long term.

I’ve been pretty adamant of wanting DD with our pick. Didn’t want Hayes or NAW at the time so we will see how it eventually plays out.
It may take a year or two but I think we will all be very happy with the pick.
