Can someone who has been shot with a gun please chime in? Always wondered the level of pain getting shot would bring on
There is a guy on here that I forget his handle but he was shot through the neck with a high powered deer rifle. I don’t remember him saying it was particularly painful probably because of the shock involved. Until I read his story and saw the pictures I would have bet $1000 that a human could not survive after having been shot through the neck with a high caliber rifle round. Not talking about a grazing wound but a complete pass through shot. Pretty incredible he is alive much less even being able to walk and function.

Acute torticollis in the neck. Basically a pinched nerve. Happened eating lunch one day...worst pain ever experienced. Driving myself to the hospital sucked. Ran a massive MRI that set me back a couple grand after insurance and did everything...last thing they gave me was a $2 pill and that worked...logically, the cheapest option was done last.

I stepped on a sewing needle when I was 17 that had lain in a jar of potpourri from some godforsaken faraway land. I pulled it out and the next day I had an infection in the bone of the toe that the needle went into. Nobody could identify it because it had never been seen in this country. That was when I learned about white pain. Weeks of hell. Morphine wouldn't touch it. Gallbaldder going septic was a far behind second.

However, getting my parotidectomy to remove a tumor from my head wins hands down.
Had the same procedure. The pain from that wasn't too bad. The pain one morning due to the tumor was excruciating.
Worst thing post op besides the jaw pain was the partial numbness that persisted for several years.

Did you get First Bite Syndrome too? I did and it's never gone away. Feels like someone stabs me with an ice pick in my jaw when I take a 'first bite' of anything sweet, salty, or tart. Sure, the tumor was closing my throat and slowly suffocating me, but I might have left that fricker in there if I had known I'd deal with this level of pain almost every time I ate anything for the rest of my life.

1. Gallbladder attack
2. Tumor removed from salivary gland soft palate—removed tumor size of quarter- 4 quarters thick. . … Excruciating pain weeks.
3. Burn on back size 2 fists, wreck, unconscious on charcoal

My ear canal was infected & swollen shut…the doc had to shove a stiff wick down my ear canal to absorbs the medicine. Passed out from the pain for a handful of seconds.
That's no joke. Got that yearly until I decided to fix the issue. Every time I hop out the shower, hit the ears with a Q-tip while everything is nice and juicy. No more ear infections.
Had the same thing. Went to after hours and listed my pain as 10+. Young Dr. comes in asks if this hurt and tugged my earlobe. Everyone in that office heard the vile thinks i called him. Don't know how I did not Punch his lights out.

Endured a Lymphoma tumor that aggressively grew and engulfed my lower spine during a 5 month period in 2012. It was a relapse of Stage IV Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma. When the pain began and started to really bother me after 2 weeks, I went to my oncologist and he ordered a scan. Unfortunately, it was to small to detect at that time and was just starting to mess with the nerves on the spine. Threw him off the scent and started a train of seeing different specialist over 4 months. Neurologist, rheumatologist, etc..
Meanwhile, it was rapidly growing and the pain became excruciatingly chronic. I couldn’t lay down at all (later realized it was because the mass was squeezing my spine more in that position) and slept for 2 months sitting at the end of a couch with pillows stacked on the armrest to lean my head on.
By month 3, I was having to take 3 80mg OxyContin a day with oxycodone cut in the middle. Right leg withered away to sinew and skin above the knee and through the groin area(nerve endings to psoas muscle were destroyed) and I was having to use a walker. Pain got even worse and he put me on fentanyl and that was horrible.
He finally told me to get to Emory ER and refuse to leave there until they knew what was wrong with me. After 3 lumbar punctures ( come to find out they couldn’t get any fluid from my spine because they were actually in the tumor itself and not the spine) over 2 days and several other tests, they finally cleared the MRI room long enough for my 2 .5 hour full body scan at 1am.
Came in at 8:00 pm and told me I had a 8.5” tall x 5” wide mass wrapped around my lower spine. They couldn’t even see any nerve endings on the scan as they were all crunched into the tumor.
That was the worst I have ever endured and probably so bad because it was a constant agonizing pain and I felt helpless because none of the specialists I saw could find anything with their standard tests. I never thought of taking my own life but was in the worst despair one can imagine.

I can't think of any specific thing, but, judging from my reaction to it, the only thing that ever made me pass out, was the "peanut butter shot" in basic. Kind of weird because it didn't feel all that painful at first.
Actually, I can think of the worst. I had a spiral fracture in my finger and had to have pins put in. I woke up during the surgery, and laid there for an eternity ( who knows, it might have been 30 seconds), while the surgeon drilled into my finger and bullshitted with the assistants. One of them finally noticed my eyes were open and I went back under again.

Holy shite! 14 hours seriously?
I broke my left femur twice at 7 and 12 years old but there were people around. Good heavens man that must have sucked.
