I've struggled with focus my entire life guys.

Has Anyone found any half decent replacement to ADD Meds that might be effective?

I'm in my early 30's and would love to quit it all together.

the only time my mind feels totally clear and in focus is when I eat clean with very limited carbs. It's like a fog gets lifted and everything comes into view.

Also, I am a list maker. Make the list, complete the list. Rinse, repeat

This. If I'm getting my carbs from veggies and not eating sugar it's like I unlock super powers after a couple of weeks. The bad thing is that ADHD makes you more likely than others to crave sugar or carb heavy foods.

Vyvanse is way better but also costs a lot more.

Microdose of LSD is effective as well.

Is this a real thing? It would make a lot of sense to me.

That's what my son was on for over a year and it seemingly worked well. Then around February it was like he fell off a cliff suddenly. His doc switched him to twice a day adderall and he started responding better again.

I kept him off of all of it all summer. There was growing pains with that but it seemed to get a little better by the end. His mom insisted we put him back on before school though. I desperately hope we can get him off it all together so he's not 30 and addicted to it one day.

IRRC my doc said it has something to do with ADD/ADHD dopamine levels being lower and sugar being a quick way to spike them

I consider giving children adderall child abuse. Kids shouldn't be taking amphetamines

Child abuse is taking it too far but I do agree about amphetamines. My oldest was considered ADHD and the years of 4-8 were extremely difficult. Almost kicked out of 2 daycares, suspended at school, etc. We even consulted with a dr about adhd medication. In the end, we just let him be.

To give hope to anyone facing this: by age 9 he was better, age 10 a little better, by 11 and 12 the outbursts were rare, usually only after too much TV or especially video games. Now, he's almost like an adult, super calm kid. I realize it's anecdotal, but hope is hope.

It's not that dissimilar to giving your kid meth. Is that child abuse?

I can't make an argument against it, just seems too harsh.

frick off bro. you dont even have kids and dont know shite about them, about raising them, adderall or any medicine, health when it comes to them, behavorial issues or anything like that.

if we need a kids opinion on accounting we will ring you, until then mind your fricking business about telling parents how to raise their kids.

I do agree, though, they're easier to raise if you just sedate them every day
