Be a good teammate, and unless you have to for management type purposes, don't shite on your coworkers/boss.

I have seen far, far too many people just ruin their career because they got a bad teammate reputation.

Middle management is the fricking worst and will stab you in the back and shite in the wound so they can have an extra slice of pizza at the company Christmas party. Never hesitate to fire off an email letting upper management/owners/execs know what those shitstains are doing in the name of "company culture" because chances are they're oblivious to it.

Loyalty is overrated. Don't ever put your company's best interest over your own.

In my experience, blame shifting is rarely worth the energy or credibility/capital expended, even when you've got a pretty good argument for it. If it falls on your turf, own it and get on with it.

Take it on the chin, protect your good subordinates, and go back to banking goodwill for use the next time something arises.

I recommend women work hard at creating your own identity in your career before meeting a man.

it's shockingly easy to alpha/bully people. not something you should do often but occasionally it can be very helpful.

Don't be afraid to find another job and bounce. Quite often the grass is greener on the other side.

Don't stay in a position for more than 2-3 years unless you're satisfied with pay.
