Do you prefer a forged or cast wedge?

Played forged Cleveland 588 wedges for years. Liked the fact they were a little heavier and I could really feel the clubface.

Switched to SM9 vokeys and they’re great but don’t have quite the same feel. Maybe a little more forgiving though.

Even though the Vokey’s are more forgiving, I think my proximity with the Cleveland’s was a little better.

Anybody notice similar?

I’m going to remember to ask my match play opponent this question the next time he’s got a wedge into the green

I played Cast clubs for 30 years.

I now love the feeling of forged wedges.

But it's hard to argue against the Vokeys, especially in performance.

I prefer a forged wedge. I just started playing the PXG sugar daddy 2's and they are quite impressive.

Vokeys are my choice. Played both but vokeys are the only ones that give me a chance, as my short game is nothing to be proud of.

Switched from Vokeys to T22 Mizuno and really digging the feel. Half and three quarter shots feel so crisp.

A few years ago I found a guy selling an unused, still in the plastic set of 588 wedges he purchased in the early 2000’s. I bought them for $175.

I cant play a cast wedge.

I much prefer the mizuno wedges.

T20 for me looks cleaner than the t22.

They most certainly are forged, before they are milled.

Not sure why you would think they weren't.

I play forged now. Sole/turf interaction is more important to me than forged v cast.

I have the Cleveland 588 forged wedges and I’ve gotten used to the feeling through the shot. I know immediately when I haven’t hit it flush. Distance control is much better for me.

I have the copper set. I like the wear on them so far. No complaints.

One of my wedges is forged. Callaway Jaws Forged. I don't really care that it's forged, rather I like the straight leading edge and C grind, which differs from the regular Jaws wedges.

The rest of my wedges are not forged (Cobra King Tour MIM gap wedge and Callaway Full Toe lob wedge) and their selection are also based on other characteristics not related to forging.
