Any advice on hotels on the strip and things to do?
All experiences welcome!

Depends on what you are looking for. I typically stay at a lower end hotel like a harrahs or flamingo and do more shows. Cosmo and venetian are nice. Ive stayed at the venetian a couple of times but id rather stay at a cheaper hotel.
As far as shows and experiences these are must see out of the ones ive seen.
Absinthe
Shin lim
Opium
There are a ton of shows though. I go to vegas gor ufc events so I usually get in thursday morning and leave sunday morning. I recommend seeing a ufc event if you like live sports and they have something going down the weekend you are there.
I dont do clubs and shite like that but I would imagine they are all huge ripoffs because everything in vegas is expensive.
Next time i go i want to go to the race track.

Check out the skybar at the Waldorf Astoria. Went last week for pre-dinner drinks and the view was fantastic. We also ate at momofuku at the cosmo which was great. Also, check out tacos el gordo, it’s past the Wynn/encore (almost across from resort world). It’s a locals/casual place and it was phenomenal

Stay mid strip to make walking easier. I usually stay at TI or the Mirage. You can do everything you want at the Bellaggio except sleep there without paying their nightly rates. The two properties I mentioned are still good shape. DO NOT stay at the Strat as you are by Naked City and the Circu Circus needs to be imploded. Personally, I'd recommend getting off the strip and explore the Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, Valley of Fire, or other national parks

Can’t go wrong with Caesar’s Palace although the Venetian has the nicer rooms since all of the regular rooms resemble mini suites. Those are my two favorites.

Venetian/Palazzo or Aria. Nice rooms and casino, good late night food.
Dinner - Lotus of Siam, Firefly Tapas, L’Atelier Joel Robuchon (MGM)
Lunch - Julian Serrano (Aria), Mon Ami Gabi (Paris)

Live in LA, so am heading over labor day weekend for some football wagering and food/drink.
Dinners planned at Jose Andres meat place Sat. and Wing Lei after the LSU game.
It's been a while .... deciding whether to splurge on a room or just chill at somewhere like the Mandalay.

Whatever you plan to do, be prepared for it to cost a lot of money!
I just got back from there, last night. Here's a small example: Went to eat breakfast at the casino cafe before leaving for the airport yesterday. 2 orders of waffles, 1 regular buttermilk pancakes. Bacon on the side for all three. Coffee to drink and 1 glass of apple juice......the bill was $91 before tip.

Cosmopolitan is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in.

If you sign up for Cosmo’s players club, they’re good about sending out free weeknight stays. It’s been acquired by MGM, so we’ll see how that changes things.
Miracle Mile shops has several restaurants with cheap dining deals. Worth checking out. Also, the South Point is a good value for dining and playing if you have a car.

I went for Halloween many years ago. Absolutely one of my favorite trips.

I stayed at MGM Grand in May and it was decent. I will probably stay at Ballys next time because it’s a better location and I liked their poker room the most.

Go skydiving! Once in a lifetime experience, always cool to do in the desert

If you can afford it- stay at the Wynn. It is on another level of class from most of the other joints on the strip.

I know it's the travel board but if any thread deserves a "hookers and blow" response it is this one.

I like thrill rides, so I did the three at the top of The Strat last month. They've been there for a while (I did the same rides in 2009), but they're still fun.
There's also this thing that wasn't there then where you literally jump off and fall 1000 feet. There are multiple ropes attached to you that guide you to a soft landing. You need to pre-book it, and I didn't, but it's something that I'll do next time I'm in Vegas.

We really enjoyed the Haunted History Museum. It has some crazy artifacts in there and is worth the time if you are looking to do something different.
