The technical definition for an STD is a disease that is spread through semen and/or vaginal fluid. That vehicle of transmission has not been verified, based on what I have read.

But I think it will be. Then it will be considered an STD.

Finally someone with some sense....I swear the OT gets stupider everyday

Uhhhhh, wrong.

"Sexually transmitted disease generally acquired by sexual contact. The organisms that cause sexually transmitted diseases may pass from person to person in blood, semen, or vaginal and other bodily fluids."

Over 95% of monkeypox cases are from gay sexual contact as they transmit "other bodily fluids", aka the virus through skin to skin contact. This makes it an STD, regardless of the liberal media trying to not focus on the gay dudes passing it around.

Is this the same CDC that said "wear a mask, no don't wear a mask, only two weeks to flatten the curve, don't take horsepaste instead take this pill made by a Big Pharma Company that contains horsepaste"...?

Yeah, sorry, but if they say it's not a dirty butt-sex disease, it most certainly is.....they've become compromi$ed and Politici$ed....

So it’s just like Scabies that’s classified as an STD. But not like Scabies because it effects the LGBTQ community.

It's no secret how it spreads...

And when one of you guys get the pox, you'll try your damnest to explain the gay away. No one will believe you.

I'm fine with the classification. If I brush up against the pox in Target, I want plausible deniability.

This is just like the 80's all over again when they kept trying to convince everyone that AIDS wasn't a male homosexual disease. They worked really hard at it and that was before the current wave of WORK / LGBTQIA++wxyz.

Give it a minute, they are researching modes of transmission. It will officially be an STD in the next month or so. Nobody cares when it was still in Africa.

That’s a different thing than it being designated an STD and you are correct that the media seems to want to pretend it is not primarily a gay man’s disease.

Unfortunately, even the top people at the CDC and other health related agencies are now making science decisions based on political ideology. That is disappointing.

i was <10 for most the 80s during the AIDS epidemic, but upon being old enough to understand, i just thought it was an STD and to not sleep around in the 90s.

it wasn't until i was in my 30s that i figured out it was mainly just a gay thing and even back then people were just too scared to tell the gay mafia that AIDS was nature/God's way of saying FAFO.

It's absolutely insane that people were too scared of "stigmatizing people" to tell the truth and save lives.

anyways, i'm sure the CDC learned their lesson and are giving us proper information this time.

to instantly stop the virus, the message should be “stop having anal sex”.

People still need to know they can get it in several other ways. Again, this isn’t complicated. Still not sure why this is making some of you upset.

people CAN catch it through other ways, yes.

But the easiest and most simple way to NOT spread it is to not have unprotected sex with a partner that has had several other sexual partners in the last few months.

the complaints and mocking in this thread aren't directed at the other ways it's spread. it's that the CDC are too big of pussies to say "stop having promiscuous sex." They're trying to do everything BUT say that, when that advice would be more helpful than anything else that could be said.

it is not the anal sex that is an issue, it is that gay dudes are sluts or they are the DL taking what they can get and regularly bang dudes they just met

I saw an article today on san Francisco stopping contact tracing because of this

quote:

While the department investigated every known case in the “early days of the outbreak,’’ many of the people interviewed were unwilling or unable to share the names of their partners, according to city health officials. The virus, health officials say, is spreading through skin-to-skin contact primarily during sexual intercourse.

one of my coworkers only slept with his wife (and they waited till marriage) and then he came out in his 40s and divorced.

i don't know the exact number but i'm under the impression that he's been with close to 100 men since then.

i know that's not the rule, but wow.

Last night on John Oliver's show Last Week Tonight, he showed some news clips of some individuals that caught monkeypox. Upon seeing the clip of the usual suspects, I asked myself to these victims if the victims stayed away from having anonymous gay sex then they wouldn't have to be dealing with monkey pox in the face. The real funny clip was a NYC health department official telling the gay community suggestions to have virtual gay sex.

You can contract herpes without having sex

So then basically nothing is an STD, right? Someone could rub their herpes sore covered dick on the rim of your drinking glass. Now it's no longer an STD!
