I haven't heard Kardell Thomas' name at all this pre-season.

He is struggling with weight issues?
He is listed at 6'-3" at 350 (no pun intended) pounds.
Geez, if that's true he's running a little large in a bad way. I hope he is getting in better shape.

Him and Chris Davenport have had a very similar career.

I think the dude peaked in HS.

Last we knew he was over rehab and back in games. What happened?

He has the same discipline as Zion when it comes to weight and nutrition. Will never play

He should be an absolute road grader.
With our lack of TE depth I’d like to see an extra OL come in for some power packages.

Unless something changes drastically, I could not have been any more wrong about thinking he would be a great player at LSU coming out of HS. Watching his film he looked strong, mean, and fairly athletic for a IOL. I figured he would come in, take a year or so to get into college shape, and have a good career. NONE of that looks to have happened.
LSU's OL wasn't very good in 2020 and 2021. Yet, he STILL couldn't find his way on to the field when it seemed like the team was desperate for OL to step up. Then, going into this offseason the staff felt they needed more bodies on the OL through the transfer market...despite a guy like Thomas still being on the team.
Long story short, there is a reason I'm not a scout. I thought Thomas would be great. Instead, most have forgotten he's even on the team.

Someone on radio said he may start at guard.

Didn’t practice start yesterday?

Why would you?
He is at best 3rd string.

Another round of applause for Ed's OL recruiting and development.

Kardell and Sophster. We had to have both, we thought.

When the weight changes from offseason came out, especially now seeing how BK approaches the body types he recruits at OL, and seeing 0 change from him at 350 told me all I needed to know about Thomas. The guy just hasn’t figured it out and likely won’t at this point. I would expect him to be processed in the offseason.

Could be a case of him not being able to understand a playbook. It’s a lot easier in high school to look the part of a 5 star OL when coaches water down your plays to the OIL technique and let you run over undersized competition.

He played and wasn’t bad at times toward the end of last year, but you’d have to watch the games to know that.

He really took the "kardells pancake" jokes to heart.

He'll be kicking himself in the arse 20 years from now finally realizing how immature and undisciplined he was to throw it all away.

I didn’t think he did a bad job when he got an opportunity at the end of last season.

Or maybe he is working his butt off and we just have better players in front of him. Any 5-star lineman from 1/2A High-school football is a project that takes time for them to learn how to play against guys of similar size.
