Which city would you move to if you had the chance? Charlotte has a better job market, closer to mountains, better airport but feels kinda soulless and is getting too big. Raleigh feels more quiant but is quickly becoming Austin-level expensive and doesn't have all the eminities of Charlotte.

Raleigh.

Charlotte is an Atlanta wanna-be.

I’d probably prefer quiant eminities.

Raleigh is super nice. The foreign population is quite large there if that bothers you. Many Asian, Indian, Middle Eastern, etc.

I lived in RDC for years. I would choose Raleigh over Charlotte. I'm looking forward to moving back. But it is rapidly becoming more expensive and overrun with transplants.

Raleigh, Cary specifically was one of the best places I’ve ever lived. I would go back in heartbeat

Charlotte. Raleigh just got an Apple campus and housing prices are insane. I literally just made the choice between the two about 5 months ago.

Charlotte's downtown is nice but generic. That being said, a lot of good breweries out here, decent hiking/kayaking, and so many places are within 8 hours.

I have always thought living in Richmond would be cool.

There's so many better places in Virginia to live. Richmond isn't a nice city.

Raleigh. It’s supposed to be the micro-brewery capital of the world.

Any recs?

I like Richmond because it reminds me of a European city, at least the way it looks.

What is bad about it? Kinda ghetto?

My favorite spot is the Lynnwood Grill and Brewing Concern on Grove Barton off Glenwood. The Once You Go Black IPA and the Belgian blonde are excellent.

pretty accurate. Demographics of charlotte and Atlanta as similar if you catch my drift. Housing in Raleigh is getting insane.

I live in Charlotte. I like it a lot. Just a nice place to live. Tons of breweries, restaurant scene is miles better than when I moved here. The growth is insane. Close to a lot of fun stuff and areas. Airport provides direct access to nearly everywhere

Downtown is generic, SouthEnd is great, as is NoDa and Plaza Midwood for areas to hangout in

Fuquay-Varina again in a heartbeat. Close enough to Raleigh if you want to do city stuff, but still small town/country appeal. Lives there for years and loved it.
