Portlanders desperately try to sell off homes taken over by squatters

A two bedroom, three bathroom single family home has been placed on the market in Portland’s Southeast neighborhood for $330,000.
There’s a catch though. The buyer that ultimately ends up purchasing the home will be tasked with removing squatters that have taken over the property.

I don’t understand the problem. You get a large garbage bin delivered to the house and start gutting the house. Most of the Sheetrock will have to be gutted anyway to freshen things up. Any personal belonging that are not yours get trashed.
Anybody that’s not a friend or family member helping to clean up leaves or gets knuckles.
Door locks get changed. Cars that don’t belong get towed.

I don't understand why the homeowners don't just set the house on fire. Blame the squatters and then collect the insurance and sell the lot for whatever they can get.
