Nothing wrong with Walmart clothes.
My work clothes closet is filled with those $10 Dickies pocket tshirts and $20 wrangler jeans because spending more than that on clothes thats going to get stained from oil/grease and possibly ripped is dumb. I have 0 shame when it comes to wearing that stuff while out on the road for months at a time.

Work boots is a completely different story - Thorogood or GTFO.

Yep. Went to a local ATL chain called 6 Feet Under on Tuesday. Everything on the menu had increased by at least $2 since the last time I went there.

Costs for restaurants are becoming unbearable. They are compensating by charging more for drinks or adding an automatic gratuity that goes straight to overhead.

Hard times for restaurant owners out there.

So ungrateful. I don’t need food and clothes when I see the smiles my kids come home with after making life size tranny genitalia sculptures in school

so it is discounting the prices on them.

Not Wal-Mart clothing-related, but I've noticed this on some items that have increased in price due to inflation. Manufacturers jack up the price, people don't buy it, and the retailer is forced to clearance it out at a lower price than it was selling for two years ago. That's not a sustainable business model.

Maybe people just have a better sense of style now and don’t want to be seen in Walmart clothes.

In the mens section they sell underwear, socks and jeans. shite everyone wears.

Having items always "on sale" is exactly the model a lot of discount retailers have.

I don't wear socks, underwear, or jeans from Walmart. High quality socks and drawers are two of life's greatest pleasures

They probably are. But just not buying crap that isn’t essential. If last years backpack, uniforms etc fit then they get worn till they don’t.

Definitely not sustainable.

I'm entertaining all summer. It sucks. Even beach cookouts are becoming too expensive.

The Walmart shoppers would simply take over your beloved Target.

I'm a big proponent of smoking meat every Saturday in the Fall and having an open invitation to friends to come over to watch games on my patio. I don't live in Louisiana so sadly I can't be in Death Valley every weekend.

Anyways, I might have to stop that if prices of meat don't get better. shite is OUTRAGEOUS right now. A small Kroger brisket, which is crap, was $75 last week. Don't get me started on beef tenderloin.

ETA:

I'll still do cold suds. wings, and sausage though.

God, the Walmart clothing area is trash

You know, for just basic stuff (like a solid color t-shirt or cheap blue jeans), it's not that bad, these days.

Clearly, you should never use Walmart to be fashionable, but if you want a $6 t-shirt for normal use, it's hard to do better.

Right.

Happy to buy my yard work/home renovation clothes at walmart.

Correction: Walmart.com. I don't go into walmarts anymore

But stout! We’re totally not in a recession, according to the new* technical definition of recession, we can’t just look at one single factor like GDP!

Besides, have you seen the job market lately!?!? Ohh, is that just one single factor ignoring all the other factors?

It’s just (D)ifferent.

I've also noticed the Cane's drive-thru by my house is getting less and less busy. Would be damn near out to the street on weekday evenings; now only two or three cars when I pass by.

The average family spends far more on interest than fuel, the real problem is that of lifestyle choices and debt.
