Both hot water and central heating are being banned in public buildings. Luckily, it's very hot right now but, should this continue in the winter.........
The Germany city of Hanover has become the first big city in Europe to ban hot water and central heating in public buildings in response to Vladimir Putin's weaponizing of gas supplies.
The drastic step comes as Germans have been told to expect sky high electricity bills and sweeping gas rationing measures that will affect their day-to-day lives.
In a sign of things to come, Hanover, the capital of Lower Saxony in the north west of the country, will cut off the hot water in public buildings, swimming pools, sports halls and gyms.
Other desperate gas-saving measures include switching off public fountains and blacking out night-time lights on major buildings such as the town hall and museums.
The city's mayor, Belit Onay, spoke of an 'imminent gas shortage' that meant they had to reduce the city's energy consumption by 15 per cent.
This should do wonders for crime levels!

They made their own bed committing to that much of their energy supply coming from Russia. Luckily for the US, we will have all those wind turbines.

Is this the same natural gas that the US has a ten trillion tons of? This could be a big opportunity for us, if we had competent America-First people in charge.

This was my thought as well but the LNG infrastructure isn't there to make it happen yet. Germany doesn't have their own re-gasification terminals, because it has wanted to pretend it doesn't have anything to do with non-green energy, so it relies on its neighbors to import and re-gasify the LNG, then ship it through the gas pipeline to Germany.

US has natural gas but the Freeport LNG port explosion has reduced our export capabilities for a while.
