My best post in that thread

Y’all want to save the most lives? Take steps to protect the elderly. As far as the rest of us, there’s no reason we shouldn’t be able to go about things as usual taking steps we would normally take if we caught a virus. Stay home and chill till it’s over. Wash hands. Etc. that alone keeps this thing from killing hundreds of thousands which is apparently what every panicked bitch seems to think.

March 12 was when that basketball player tested positive. By the weekend, Democrat mayors and governors were falling over each other trying to shut down in the name of safety. And they were trying to out-safety each other by going for a week… two weeks… a month. It snowballed driven by the media and what was happening in Italy. Pretty much everyone in power was forced to “do something” out of perception and not reality. Trump never wanted to lockdown. He wasn’t even sure if he could order it. The first round of “stimulus” was a PR move.
TBH I genuinely don't remember people here being enthusiastic about shut downs. Maybe I'm blocking it out because I was cheering it or something, but I don't think so.
I remember being annoyed about them cancelling sports. I would imagine most on here, while probably not covering themselves in glory in retrospect, had no idea what approach was warranted and rightfully so.
On the stimulus, there was plenty of opposition after the initial round/PPP, I think.

I'm not going to lie and say that I didn't enjoy working from home, but at the cost of this recession it was never worth it.

This is exactly what the UNIparty wanted when they worked with China to usher in Covid.

I remember having a conversation with my niece and nephew after they came home from school and said that they were being told that a lady in China ate a bat, and that's how covid started. It was, and still is, the most ridiculous made up story I've ever heard to date.

"If the same recommendation had been made by Hillary Clinton, there's NO WAY the Republican governors would have gone along with it"
but would this whole covid incident & response have even happened if not for them trying to remove Trump at all costs?"

That’s impressive Joe, it only took less than 2 years to wreck the greatest economy ever that Trump created.
Go try and buy a house or car right now, or pay for gas or a gallon of milk, bacon or eggs.
Biden is a god dam terrorist.

Unknowingly, no doubt, you're making the case against DT.

here it wasn't as bad as reddit but there was wishcasting similar to hurricane threads that was going on. With hurricanes people like the extra days off. With covid there was thinly veiled doomerism because people didn't want to go back to the office.
There wasn't a lot of room for pragmatic conversations in
i was allowed to work from home for like two weeks. I spent more time in the office in 2020 than i did 2019 despite being in outside sales which i could do full time at home. My boss was a paranoid micromanager

TBH I genuinely don't remember people here being enthusiastic about shut downs.
People were calling for arrests for keeping open businesses or for possibly being spreaders.
People were fully on board with it.

I was repeatedly told that “it had to be done”.

Don’t think Trump should be held responsible for the destruction created by an all-power seeking conglomerate of Dims, life-long swamp dwellers and propaganda spewing MSM. Should we just capitulate so that the powers in control can relieve us of our suffering?

If trump had known he would lose the election anyway I doubt he plays the game he was forced into.

Skipping over all that partisan bile, my response was to your other post about the covid response never happening if DT wasn't endanger of impeachment. Basically what you said was that DT disregarded the health and prosperity of our nation for political expediency. I'm assuming that was not your intention.

Why are we ok with this?

And Q3 will be three quarters in a row. What spin will the White House put on it then?
Those numbers will be out before midterm elections. And it will not be pretty.

Yep. Lots of this shite here.

This probably wasn't the best idea.

I heavily blame Trump, although I blame Fauci and Birx significantly more, as they should be expected to act appropriately, not politically.

Possibly! I love how certain posters attack Trump with the benefit of retrospection. Initially Trump had to listen to his “medical experts” but he was not in favor of long term lockdowns. Can you imagine the vitriol he would have faced (yes even more so than now) if he hadn’t initially followed the “experts’” advice & all these “deaths due to Covid” had been laid at his feet. And for those who say they’re already laying the deaths at his feet, well again that’s viewing history in retrospect. He was damned if he did and damned if he didn’t. He was a threat to the status quo of power & wealth in the swamp. He had to be removed by any means possible
